Good morning travelers. I spent a few years driving up to and into Center City Philly. On street parking is patrolled by the nastiest parking enforcement group known to mankind. They're so bad, that there is a cable TV show of the antics. IMO, if looking for a cheese steak, just about any cheese steak place on Oregon Avenue is hard to beat. You've got to try one with the Cheese Wiz instead of American, Provolone, or Mozzarella cheese. It's ironic that a hose built in the 1780's is old, when most of Europe, a 1780's building is considered new construction. It's all about perspective. Chris, one tip for carrying money in big cities, place "some" cash in your pocket, and keep the pocket book under your coat, or better yet, just travel with the required ID and cash. The further north you travel, the more smash and grab vehicle break-ins you encounter. Love the music on this video and the different perspective on Philly. OBTW, a chain restaurant called Glory Days has/had a cheese steak and chicken cheese steak that's pretty good for a cheese steak that isn't made in Philly.
Im a Philly boy and we do love the city. My daughter lives across from Sonny's . There is so much to see just between 2nd and 3rd st at market st its amazing. You should have gone to the Betsy Ross House on Arch st. Great video you guys are making me hungry i think ill call my daughter and go to Sonny's .Have a great day .be safe be kind
You two do a great job of conveying your travels in such a fun informative way. I really enjoyed this episode as I lived in Phillie for 7 yrs bk in the late 70s-early 80s so it was especially fun traveling w/you. I thoroughly enjoying your east coast trip. I’m really excited to travel with you in eastern Canada. 🇨🇦 Thank you both for all the fun.
Hey guys looking good. Good thinking. Oh snap look at that line. Damn. I had no idea that dude had his own store. I think he wrote Rocky also. I was impressed. That is a huge City Hall. WOW!😮 88 million blows my mind 🤯. lol I can't wait to have my steak sandwich from Philly. lol, he's so funny 🤣 doesn't remember. Get it Girl! Oh yeah that's the good stuff.😊 Thanks for the fun day. 👋😁
Aaron summed up how I feel every time I have to drive into Philly. I live 50 mins away and only go when I have to. I’ll have to make a more concerted effort to go. Unlike Christine, I’m more of a mountain girl than a city one. 🙂
So glad you visited Elfreth's Alley. My family grew up on Elfreth's Alley. My dad was actually born in a house on Bladen's Court. The first house past the grassy lot on the right used to be my Great Aunt's house. Loved sleepovers with my cousins at her house.
You have to go to the nearby suburb of Norristown and try one of their Zep sandwiches. You won't be disappointed.... And don't even ask about them if you are not in Norristown!
as much fun as it is to take our RV out in the wilderness to explore, sometimes it is nice to take it to the big city to explore as well.....Looking forward to NYC as well.. continued safe travels.
Okay, Aaron, you just solved a problem for me in the first 30 seconds. I feel like an idiot to admit this, but I hadn't considered folding the ridges for the drip coffee filter. Power moves sir, thank you.
Next time eat your cheesesteak at Angelo’s @ 9th & Fitzwater st use cooper sharp cheese..Geno’s 9th & Passyunk has the best cheese fries and cleanest place you can eat cheesesteak at
Just found your channel today. I live near Valley Forge (about 1/2 hour outside of Philly) We used to go to South Street all the time in the ‘80’s. Phil’s was my favorite cheesesteak place. I haven’t had a cheesesteak in years but after seeing yours I now have to have one! 👍🏼😋 Love your channel so far! 😃
25yrs in Philly now living in VA. 1. Bridge toll rate was displayed on the toll booth window 😂. 2. Glad the city is much cleaner than before. 3. Up till 70, city charter forbids any building taller than city hall. 4. Ben Franklin points his finger to North Philly because he said that is the rich part of the city but if you stop at Franklin parkway, his finger and position is the biggest joke of the city. 5. Tony Luke has one of the best pork sandwich and Geno and Jim’s are my favorite but try visit Reading Terminal! 😊
Philadelphia is such an amazing city. Haven't been there in almost 35 years. My family lived there before I was born. My relatives went to Cardinal Dougherty High School, which was the largest Catholic high school in the world with over 6,000 students - in a high school! They provided an excellent education too and had great teams and world famous marching band. Philadelphia is an American city like no other.
Great video! Glad you enjoyed your time in my home state of Pennsylvania! ❤️The soft pretzels 🥨 are delicious too! We love Philly Cheesesteaks but without peppers, that is how the locals like it! ❤️
Another great video. My Son was there for work and got verbally accosted by a homeless guy for like one block or so. City of brotherly love where they threw snowballs at Santa Claus LOL. Does Chris know who the Broad Street Bullies were? Waaaaay before your guys time. Sure looked like fun and glad you didn't get towed or ticketed.
You guys are the greatest! I really appreciate you saving me the time of being just curious about the Northeast. Thanks I really think your video will satisfy my curiosity.
Grew up in Philly, and a classic Philly cheesesteak has Cheese Wiz, not American. Get another cheese if thats what you like, but next time, get the Wiz.
We were happy with the generic, but once we got the new 5th wheel with the 2750 watts of solar we just didn't use it any more. I think it sat unused for about 6 months and I had trouble starting it. It turned out to just be a sticky spring on the carburetor and after lubing it fired right up! 👍 We ended up finding a new home for it.
We were camped over in Lancaster and trying to get out of Philadelphia there is a round-a-bout with many exits and we took the wrong exit, made a u-turn, and got stopped by motorcycle cop for making an illegal u-turn. Lucky got off with only a warning.
Just caught a glimpse of you guys leaving QC KOA. How was your visit? Hope you had a nice time in spite of Debbie's downpour. Will there be a video upcoming. We are here from Kansas City.
Hello! We thought we heard you yell out! 😂 Yes, we had 2 great weather days visiting the old town and really loved the city. We’ll have a video, but it will be a while as we’re still doing our Eastcoast videos. NYC will launch later today. Enjoy your trip and safe travel!
Just watched....the toll you mentioned is to leave New Jersey..., so its not Philly. You will always pay a toll to leave New Jersey. Its like they don't want you to leave. 😄
A true Philly Cheesesteak does not contain green peppers. Any true Philadelphian will tell you that a cheesesteak is meat, cheese, bread, sometimes wit onion, (drop that "h' on with when ordering) and that's it!
Well that was a nice Chamber of Commerce tour...........just not the real Philly. Let's be honest. And the same goes for Chicago, DC, New York City, Minneapolis, San Francisco, LA, Seattle, Portland, Detroit.........you get my point!!
For the record, you can get a great sandwich (aka cheese steak) anywhere in the city! For my money, I support Genoe's because of their support of police, fire and EMS personnel and their families. If you really want a great sandwich, Donkey's steaks in Camden NJ!!! I PROMISE you won't be disappointed!
Not sure if Philly has a law on that. It hard to keep up on all the different laws in each town/city/county and state! Can make it tough on traveling for sure! 😊

Going to Philly next weekend. My fav cheesesteak, Jim’s on South St, just re-opened after a fire last year. Can’t wait!
OH nice! Have a fun trip!
Your excitement at running up those steps is contagious. Now I want to go!
😂 it was pretty fun!
Loved that alley...would be neat place to live

Oh Chris, you really could not be one bit more adorable!!!
😊 thanks Carman!
I agree - watch her smile and how her nose smiles too. So cute 😊
Philly looks a LOT cleaner than when I was there in the early 80's :)

Philadelphia has the Mummers Parade, another incredible and unique thing about Philadelphia.
You have to go to the nearby suburb of Norristown and try one of their Zep sandwiches. You won't be disappointed.... And don't even ask about them if you are not in Norristown!

Love the tour. The striped shorts would have been great for the stairs. Love the hoops. Thanks ps you would look great in that dress.
Also the US Marine Corps was started in Philly. In Tun Tavern on Water Street, on November 10th, 1775. They are proud they were started in a bar....
Irene you are so pretty. Hope you both nothing but safe travels and love

Lobster 🦞 rolls, cheese steaks…. Wowza… I gotta remember to have snacks-at-the-ready every time I tune you in. 🤤

Hey guys! Does Irene always do the driving?
Hello! and yes!
Wait, who's Irene?
Should have parked in NJ and take the train to CenterCity 6 bucks round trip a piece.
Thought you were going to wear the shorts while running up the steps❤.
Philadelphia born and raised for 45 years. Now living in Southern NJ. At least you made it out alive lol. Steve's Prince of Steaks for the win 😊😊😊😊😊😊

Hope Canada is treating you well. 🇨🇦
It is! been an amazing trip so far!

Hey are you guys still happy with your Generec generator. I liked your year old TH-cam review and thinking of getting one.
We were happy with the generic, but once we got the new 5th wheel with the 2750 watts of solar we just didn't use it any more. I think it sat unused for about 6 months and I had trouble starting it. Always pay to leave NJ.......Free coming in

Whoa! Glad it was just a warning!
Hey Aaron n Chris , the Ford Super Duty is going to get produce in the Ford Plant in Oakville Ontario soon 🔜
Oh wow thats great news! 👍

@@IreneIronTravelsThank you. You guys too.
"Hooters" has super good cheese steak sandwiches for around fifteen dollars.
Be careful up there!
Just watched....the toll you mentioned is to leave New Jersey..., so its not Philly. You will always pay a toll to leave New Jersey. Its like they don't want you to leave. 😄
Curious why Erin never drives...enjoying your content.
Thanks! We have a video for that. 😊 th-cam.com/video/9o-wkrIZUU4/w-d-xo.html

Wonder where you stayed in the NYC area? There's not many campgrounds/ rv parks around here.
Well that was a nice Chamber of Commerce tour...........just not the real Philly. Let's be honest. And the same goes for Chicago, DC, New York City, Minneapolis, San Francisco, LA, Seattle, Portland, Detroit.........you get my point!!
LOL…”I just want cheesesteaks!” I hear ya Chris! Mmmmm!
Love your memories of your Sprinter Van! You hooked us all! 😂
🤣 Yes! We're still talking about the van!
For the record, you can get a great sandwich (aka cheese steak) anywhere in the city! For my money, I support Genoe's because of their support of police, fire and EMS personnel and their families. World's Largest Peanut & Carroll's Sausage And Country Store In Ashburn, GA | Roadside Attraction
Glad you are still alive. When we in Bucks county turn on the morning news, it’s a body count everyday.
👍
Why don’t you take a Uber instead of paying high parking prices
No peppets on real cheesesteak sandwiches.
Can you ride on sidewalks there?
Not sure if Philly has a law on that. It hard to keep up on all the different laws in each town/city/county and state! Can make it tough on traveling for sure! 😊
That city hall was beautiful but why so many window air conditioners? It looked like one in every single window. That’s not attractive.
Best cheese steak is Pat’s with Cheese Whiz IMHO
Why she drive too close to the steering wheel? Just relax and move back lil bit.
Hate to see that airbag come out.
👍
