Jacob I thought you might like to hear this. I was at an RV show recently and there was a grand design representative there and we were talking about plumbing and he specifically mentioned your videos and stated they have upgraded to pex. I looked at a couple different units and sure enough I saw pex with brass fittings. Not saying everything was perfect but a hell of a lot better. You should go and take a look at a newer model and see what you think
Love spending my Saturday mornings with you Jacob! I recently looked at a new 2025 Riverstone Legacy and they switched to a fiberglass roof, through frame electric, and dometic AC. Thanks.
Had a leak after 2 years on one of the hose to pex fittings from water heater- would have ruined my storage deck and made a real mess of the underbelly as would not have been caught until permanent damage done. Sure glad I had removed panel to place a leak alarm when I found it. Many other similar connections not leaking "yet". Replaced all incorrect / bad plumbing, and used brass fittings where I needed new ones. In addition, replaced plastic low point drain valves with brass. Took about two days total, crawling and contorting in the storage compartments and underbelly, and about $200 in materials (plus another $200-$300 specialized tools needed to cut off old cinch clamps etc in tight spaces). Really disappointing on a 120k$ RV! Manufacturers should be ashamed as very low cost to do it right the first time.
Hello Jacob, my husband and I really love what you are doing for folks that are shopping for rvs. I was wondering if you ever thought about doing a show on Northwood and Outdoors RVs those seem like the are well made, but we never seen one, Because we live on the east coast. Thanks for all your information. 😊
As I have commented before....there is flex tubing designed to be used with PEX clamps and fittings. You need to read the side of the hose and get the number to confirm.
I had done a cursory search for a straight Pex fitting that transitions to a barb fitting and could not find any such fitting. Not to say they don't exist, I just couldn't find any. The RV industry should consume enough components to encourage Pex fitting manufacturers to make them thereby resolving this problem.
Can you possibly do a review of the Jayco Jayfeather...since white hawk and jayfeather merged. Not sure if its still a good rv or if quality actually went down. And love love love some of the wildwood views but quality probably not the best.
He stated that the final score on the Riverstone was 84. If it had good plumbing you could add the 10 points he deducted for bad plumbing and the final score would be a 94.

@@mat72-k1q I was at the New England RV show yesterday and I can confirm that is true.

I believe Rockwood mini lite and the sister Company, has gone to all pex plumbing too. They’re all running scared because of you and Rigor rv channel.

I changed mine out last week, no big deal. However if I was paying 140,000, shame on Forest River!
What cost increase do you feel a manufacturer would incur if they upgraded the plumbing ?
So if manufacturers are going to continue to use thermafoil, why not come up with a type of composite for underneath? Just a thought.
❤ your videos.

Product line called Flair-it. Not cheap and easy enough for RV makers to use.

Are you currently at the Florida RV show?
Great video!
Although different/sister companies would you say Palomino uses the same general parts for their similar cost/designed fifth wheels?
What about this so called new system. Called sure slide. It's supposed to be better than swintec.
If the Riverstone plumbing was corrected , what grade would you give it?

lol @ thermostats Imagine how much effort was used on more important aspects...
