Hi Sam. As a Bulgarian, I have many reasons to like Russia and russians, see the history. I have been to this great country 4 times and I hope one day like this situation that is at the moment ends I will visit it again. Marvellous road trip the guy must have done. Something I wouldn't mind doing myself.

You mentioned the Volga car...back in the 70's they sold them in Belgium with either Landrover or Perkins Diesel Engines...one to tell your Russian friends. 15 years ago a German was still importing Volgas new into Germany, had quite a following, also the UAZ Buhanka has a western following.

@@SamsRussianAdventures I think that was a local project for that territory. A kind of of privileged houses to invite good-skilled workers, as that guy said.
Fascinating video!!!! I really love this kind of lets-see-what-we-find-on-the-road trips. As a guy from South America I had no idea about northern winters until I went to college in the US. I used to ride a bicycle in summer and fall, but when winter arrived, I could no longer use the bicycle, and just left it outside. Obviosly it rotted and becane crap. So, in this video I looked in horror at those cars buried in the snow. Do people just abandon them? Why not putting them inside garages during the winter? Will those cars be somewhat usable when the snow melts?
I'm guessing the cars are no longer working and they have been in the same place for years! Or maybe they just don't like to drive them in winter. The snow is dry and it becomes more like an igloo.
The person may not have a garage; it may not be their only car; it may or may not rot depending on the climate; russian cars are a pain regardless of whether it's running or not, you'll be under it in any case, but it's not hard to get them back running. My second car is currently buried in snow, because i toasted the engine last summer. Ask me in a couple of months.
The dragons in the garden made me laugh. If you put those in your garden in the UK, some council bureaucrat would be threatening you with everything imaginable within hours. Yeah. Democracy eh?
The less populated the area, the less anyone gives a shit. In this village, as you can see, the amount of shit given is negative. But the rule of thumb is that if it's your own house, you can welcome people to fuck right off (practically, but not necessarily legally; it may or may not bite you in the ass if you want to sell it). However, if you install a door in a non-approved place in a block of flats, firemen will come and make you destroy it.
Sam the place with the dragon looked great. What was the dragon made out of? Wood?. I would like to see this place again when it is the summertime. Great video Sam!!
I grew up in an old Lead mining town. the mines were closing, and the houses were row houses of the shotgun variety. which meant they were rectangular, and the front door lined up with the back and you could fire a shotgun through it and not hit a wall, hence the name, and as a bit of mischief some boys dragged a tractor tire to the top of the chat dump (which was piled mine waste) and as the things that boys often do, it went from adventure to misadventure when they lost control of the tire. the chat dump was 200 feet high, and picking up speed as it went the tire rolled through the backdoor of a shotgun house and out the front door. and a good time was had by all.
I had one of the brick shaped ladas 20 years ago 1 year old steering felt like it was in cement but what a solid reliable car 🚗 👏 block from Russia bought it from me for good money as apparently thay stopped manufactureing them in Russia and they came to UK to buy them back😅😮
Thank you very much Sam for another nice and informative video. It was really interesting to see this former Soviet collective farm and its surroundings. Excellent video and take care❤.
14:07 Old style Soviet electrical distribution boxes for wiring inside walls. There were so many of them, that many russian children used them as toys for keeping something inside some 20-30 years ago.
I would like to visit Russia but in the summer time i can't stand cold weather we don't have the best of weather in the uk either but its not as cold as Russia, Thanks for sharing 👍
In Krasnodar (this is the south of Russia ) the daytime temperature is +15 degrees Celsius , dandelions, phlox, primroses, lilies of the valley , violets, hellebores are in bloom . We have a very mild climate. And in summer it is +40 , very hot and humid . Snow falls in winter and melts quickly , although it is sometimes cold. Russia has different climatic zones and 12 time zones. So do not be afraid of the cold, come to the Krasnodar Territory in winter. I recommend Sochi to visit, an evergreen city on the Black Sea coast.
minus 30 in Canada is not as bad as minus 9 UK. moisture in the wind they say. I have lived in UK winters and could not understand how it was colder than ontario
These types of productions are what is saving the world from the relentless Russia Phobia that is being pushed all over the Western media. We are all human. We all have wants and needs. We all want the best for our kids, and we are all mortal.
Great video, Sam! Lovely to see the Russian villages, so peaceful and I like that feeling like they are stuck in time. Anyway, that thing hanging that you were asking what it was... it was like a string of some electrical "boxes". It's where you connect the electricity wires to change direction or connect with other wires. I have them in my Soviet era house too, maybe it's more likely to see them in the countryside then in the city nowadays 😊
Not any more, the Thatcher government sold it all off to Burkina Faso when it was Upper Volta, and the whole affair has been a murky & cloudy one since. (‘Burkina Faso’ genuinely means ‘land of the incorruptible people’. The Tory govt does *NOT* mean that.)
A very interesting video, thank you for sharing 😊 27:42 These sculptures are the scene from the famous Pushkin's poem, and the "fish" on the tree is actually a mermaid 😂
An epic old town a lot of snow, in spring maybe more pretty with green gardens. Town houses are in soviet style. I love the old houses and ancient buildings. Thanks for sharing your walk through the snow.!😉
@t44WD - I remember carpet beaters but never had the horizontal bar. When i was young we were so poor i had to go to Kentucky Fried Chicken and lick *OTHER PEOPLE’S* fingers.
Cool roadside attractions. Love the dragon and UFO. We still have a few of the old ones along what used to be Route 66 --- I have a small town near me that has giant hand built objects like pencils and swings. It's known for this -- they even have the largest balsa wood model glider.
Many thanks for the next great video from the country side - just real life. The old post office was probably teleported from XIX century - incredible building. Greetings!
That was very interesting place, the road stop castle style was absolute badass. It is nice see the same kind of style of dragon as we have here, guess is common in slavic mythology, fairy tales to have one with three heads.
Beautiful skyline with clouds. Thank you for showing different areas and buildings. Those old strings of whatever that rattle may have at one point in time been an old burglary system that would make sound when someone breached that area. Trip wire warning system. Very cool the gent let you tour his property. Very nice shotgun. Good for home defense. The tire on the tree could be a habitat for birds or squirrels or someone's basketball hoop. The barbecue attractions were interesting. That old post office is unique and old and beautiful in its own ways. But heating it is probably a nightmare.
Is it because of the warm friendly village pub, where you can sit in front the fire and play darts with complete strangers, or the friendly picturesque village cricket match with tea and Victorian sponge cake?
Awesome video Sam. Beautiful buildings, scenery, skies, video and location and houses. Really really well made upload. 3:50 I bought a new car in Blackburn, Lancashire England the day Michael Jackson died. It was a sunny Thursday. I drove back up home, M6, M74, at quite a bracing speed, back to Glasgow to the house. I watched BBC Question Time at 10,30pm their ‘hour of solving all problems’, then David Dimbleby said at the end that “the entertainer Michael Jackson has died”. And the entire audience, and everyone at home completely forgot everything, every subject and discussion, that was spoken about in the programme. Nuts. ___ 14:05 Sam those are electricity junction boxes. Cables joined together - then to a single source. A ‘junction box’. I like those square Lada cars, very roomy, (based on the Fiat 124) - that white one was minted. You never see those on Britain’s roads, but they used to be 4, 5, 6 grand new. Now some car parts cost that. The private garage guy was very interesting, knew the area’s history and is skill at work, engineering and repairing. In Polish, ‘smok’ is ‘dragon’ but it can also mean ‘smoke’. Such quiet areas, that is extremely appealing. 7 foot snow drifts at the roadside, provincial awesomeness. Excellent video Sam, great journey. Well made and well paced. Such a fine wee group of neighbourhoods and very interesting people.
Since quite recently, MOT is only mandatory for commercial vehicles, and for private vehicles only when changing ownership. For years and years it had been very corrupt, you'd just get your insurance agent to sort it out for you, or pay someone with an MOT license a very small fee. It is still corrupt now though. Parts for relatively popular cars are not that difficult to come by, but the prices have shot up. I have an old and a relatively rare car these days, and some things are a proper pain in the ass to get, you have to really set up schemes involving neighbouring countries, other things are not. I've heard that Mercedes are a particular bitch to own these days, but everything is doable in the end. Just takes a lot of time.
@@zloychechen5150 That is interesting. What's the deal with everyone in Russia having a dashcam? At least it seems that way. Is it required by insurers?
@@seniorslaphead8336 i can't tell you whether it gives you a discount (i think not), but the legislation regarding accidents is used in a way that you can turn from being in the right to being in the wrong in no time. For example, someone changed lanes in front of you and went hard on the brakes immediately. If you don't have any footage of it, you're in the wrong, because in any rear-ending the fault is on the one who's behind by default. Cop encounters is another thing that was more prevalent a few years back, but, to this day, you never now. Not nearly everyone has them though. I'm convinced that it's just that they caught on a lot sooner here than elsewhere.
@Zloychechen - Well done with the dashboard cameras. Sensible. I saw a meteor slam into Earth from one. Count 5 or 10 seconds later and all the building windows shattered in with the shockwave. Unbelievable if it was not recorded on multiple cameras, vehicle and fixed.

8:45 lol it is not a Soviet sign lol, barely. It looks more like a border marking sign. Well, if you maybe lived in some "old" England part then I can understand this fascination with such stuff. "Non-covered" weird structures make an impression of living beings, unlike the modern things that are as if pained on a picture. I lived in the north, there's cities and villages not older than 30-20 years, absolutely brand new infrastructure all over, and just recently they started becoming "one type-style", just 10 years ago it still was enormously weird, pillars, metals, etc. new things, but such "diverse" and varying that it really pleased my mind to just look at them
Nice to see a Lada from Blackburn - my home town - in the Suzdal area. It has made a long journey from the Atlantic coast of Europe - you can see the Ribble Estuary and the Irish Sea from high ground around Blackburn - - to the other side of Europe; East of Moscow. Marvellous road trip the guy must have done. Something I wouldn't mind doing myself.
Awesome!!!!!! This the same views like in any other developed country in the world, but better and cleaner than most low places in Europe or America. Clean and nice, now compare to the worst places in USA ?? Kensington??? . Or any other places in Europe or scanfinavia like Helsingborg in Sweden , where I live t, dirty city, here you have to avoid dog shit . Every 2 meters. People don’t understand? A big country have everything, but in any level Russia is better, from the luxury skyscrapers of Moscow to the farmers houses around, the poorer small cities in the country
Hi Daniel. I'm glad you liked the video and that you like Russia. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Vlog is great! But let’s appreciate for a second those fluffy clouds! Beautiful.😍
That's great to hear the truth and see it all for ourselves !!! Thank you Sam!

Really enjoyed the tour. Thank you!
Another awesome video Sam!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you Sam. Interesting to see out of the way places. Good job.
I used to go from Ivanovo to Suzdal about once every two months....ancient town, the monestary there was founded 1024. Thanks for the trip down memory lane! It's been a long time since i lived in Ivanovo 1979-1981
Wow, Sam. Something inique. Never saw 3-level pannel buildings with 1-level jumpers. Thank You! )))
I was surprised by the small house with the A-Frame roofs.
@@SamsRussianAdventures I think that was a local project for that territory. A kind of of privileged houses to invite good-skilled workers, as that guy said.
Excelent Video again Sam thanks (watched it during my meal, wich is so spicey i havent even finished it yet) ATB!
Glad you enjoyed it! The meal and the video! I love spicy food too.
These were in the grounds of a roadside cafe!
We love you too!
Thank you 🙏

A mermaid and a cat, an oak tree with a golden chain - this is from Pushkin’s fairy tale. This is actually a poem that children learn in school.
I really enjoyed the tour Sam thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you 🙏
What an excellent video. Thanks!
Sam the place with the dragon looked great. What was the dragon made out of? Wood?. I would like to see this place again when it is the summertime. Great video Sam!!
I grew up in an old Lead mining town. the mines were closing, and the houses were row houses of the shotgun variety. which meant they were rectangular, and the front door lined up with the back and you could fire a shotgun through it and not hit a wall, hence the name, and as a bit of mischief some boys dragged a tractor tire to the top of the chat dump (which was piled mine waste) and as the things that boys often do, it went from adventure to misadventure when they lost control of the tire. the chat dump was 200 feet high, and picking up speed as it went the tire rolled through the backdoor of a shotgun house and out the front door. and a good time was had by all.
hahaha boys will be boys! Thanks for sharing!
I like snippets about everyday local history always very interesting.
I had one of the brick shaped ladas 20 years ago 1 year old steering felt like it was in cement but what a solid reliable car 🚗 👏 block from Russia bought it from me for good money as apparently thay stopped manufactureing them in Russia and they came to UK to buy them back😅😮
I knew people who shipped them back to Russia! Was funny to see the Blackburn motors sticker in the rear windscreen
@SamsRussianAdventures yes ha ha that's what reminded me
Thank you very much Sam for another nice and informative video. It was really interesting to see this former Soviet collective farm and its surroundings. Excellent video and take care❤.
Before I move there I would like to visit. Maybe this year or next.
Thats brilliant!
You can't just move to Russia. lol
Zucker Carlsberg just visited.
Enjoyed your video Russian man🤣

Old style Soviet electrical distribution boxes for wiring inside walls. There were so many of them, that many russian children used them as toys for keeping something inside some 20-30 years ago.
I would like to visit Russia but in the summer time i can't stand cold weather we don't have the best of weather in the uk either but its not as cold as Russia,
Thanks for sharing 👍
You should definitely come and visit! If you stay for long enough then the cold no longer feels cold.
@Sasha-Maxon - Так же
What an epic turn that video took when you spotted that dragon. You have got to go back there in summer. Nice 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Yes! It was incredible! I liked the UFO best though!
These types of productions are what is saving the world from the relentless Russia Phobia that is being pushed all over the Western media. We are all human. We all have wants and needs. We all want the best for our kids, and we are all mortal.
Thank you! I'm glad that you see my content as having a positive impact! Thanks for being one of the non propagandised people!
great stuff Sam
Great fun Sam, fantastic !
Cool! Thank you
Thanks for watching!
Thanks! 😃 they looked like something completely foreign to me! I agree about being stuck in time. Nothing new there for 30 years.
In the USA , such houses cost millions of dollars .
Great video Sam thanks again 👍👍👍👍
3:50 She travelled a long way! 😄
Love the houses with a little yard in the back. Wonder, what theyd go for?
I think there are two families in each one. I think they would cost about $50,000

that spanse of sky behind you looked fantastic just dont get them panoramic views in england .

Greetings!
I also love the old wooden houses with all the traditional decorations on the outside of the houses.
I totally agree! There are romantic!
good videos Sam.
Glad you like them!
Not seen snow in over 40 years, and like it that way.
Nothing better then a 40C summer’s afternoon thunderstorm.

Blackburn Car Centre (3:47). UnbeLEEEvable! I'm a Blackburn lad, but over 25 years since I lived there.
That's the type of sightseeing I enjoy, like America's old route66, sadly most of is disappearing, great video!👍👍🍻
Nuts.

14:05 Sam those are electricity junction boxes.
At this point you should probably do a video on how you've kept that car on the road... what's the MOT like in Russia? 😉
It's similar to in the UK but you can get around it!

I lived in the north, there's cities and villages not older than 30-20 years, absolutely brand new infrastructure all over, and just recently they started becoming "one type-style", just 10 years ago it still was enormously weird, pillars, metals, etc. new things, but such "diverse" and varying that it really pleased my mind to just look at them
I have seen this sign at some Soviet monuments which are just randomly placed in the countryside. They consist of the post and the Soviet flag.
Cool

Glad you enjoyed it. Yes, in the UK, sick is slang for good. Like bad in the US!
