NICE!!!! I'm gonna add it to the rest of the jerkbait tricks that you've taught me , that have helped my jerbait fishing 100%!!!! Thanks again Randy for what you do for us!!
It works....used this technique when the fish shut off...I used a phenix feather 7'1 med/Lt and a tatula Lt spinning reel...and went 10lb braid to floro...6lb seaguar gold label...used a lucky craft American shad 80...it helped me win in a tournament with 20mph wind and rain...I ran away with the tournament...thanks bud...always great to learn from the master 👍
I just tap the rod with my pointer finger. Its a more subtle action. I figured it out when i had a torn rotator cuff and any action tbrough my wrist and shoulder hurt too bad.
Works with the 110+1 jr. Need to try with nanahan for sure. I’m on dainty hair jigs now before we completely freeze over. Thanks Randy for sharing your wealth of information!
You give some amazing tips. We fish Lake Erie and Detroit river a ton and these tips for a walleye fisherman helps us catch a lot more fish when we dabble into the bass. Keep it up Mr blaukett your videos are extremely helpful 👍👍👍
I just got another 110 jr using the link at the house today. I also have a nanahan, and an x-80 jr that are killing it right now. Thanks for all the great tips, Randy!
Randy, I have lost two monster bass on a swimbait with 6 lb flourocarbon. Both times, I gently played them to the boat and that was when they decided to dive under the boat and my line snapped like it was soluble. I can't see using a jerkbait on 4 to 6.
The only problem is I want a spinning set up but most all the good rods are sold out it’s super hard to find a whipsnake rod right now lol but I’m doing pretty good with the jerkbait on the 110 special rod right now I’m just trying to get good with it before trying to master it
I watch Randy’s Jerk bait vids hoping some technique will apply in a way I can use. I have the smaller baits and spinning rod. But using 4 or 6 lb test won’t do. I will snap that line on the “snap” Randy talked about. Not to mention if a 4 or 5 pound Bass (or bigger) hits the lure. The lightest line I can bring myself to use is 12 lb line. Maybe I will try weighting the lure to keep it down in the sweet spot longer. Just more frustrating fishing with a jerkbait.
No, I use 6lb line! You just need a good reel with a good drag on it. I've caught 4-5 bass on a jerk bait using 6 lbs line. Also it will get your jerk bait to the sweet spot easier. Give it a try 👍
@…. Oh there is user error for sure. I do use a spinning rod like Randy suggests (med/mod), but I have broken off everytime I have used anything less than 10 lbs. I keep at it, but the longer I use a jerkbait, the more I believe it is a boat only lure. It just doesn’t produce for me from the bank. The bad thing is I have 20+ jerkbaits that I’m not getting my moneys worth out of.

Nobody else on the internet is giving this advanced tip guys! I've seen it work. Forget the jerk, jerk pause and pray technique. This is the juice!
Great video Randy! Probably some of your best tips on jerkbaits i've seen.

The title cracks me up, but I clicked because you are such an awesome instructor! Thanks for your hard work! I appreciate it!

Thanks Randy. I took your advice and switched to a spinning rod and reel for jerkbaits. It made a big difference. 👍👍👍
Thanks for sharing that's a great technique I'll definatly use
I can’t use my baitcaster you say?!? Challenge accepted.
This will work great with my BFS jerkbait. I'll give it a shot.
Thank you Randy
Great video!
This is juice Randy thanks for sharing
Love it! Thanks OG
Good video
I am going to try that.
Be putting that to the test after perch here in uk 🎣
Thank you
I use braid on my spinning reels, can this be done using a 6lb fluorocarbon leader or should I rig a pole just for this technique? Thanks
I will try it this weekend in Sweden! Water is well under 10 oC.
Good stuff. You should be able to get about the same result by tapping the rod blank with your free hand.
Dude Im hard on ya sometimes but your jerkbait videos are second ta none. Keep em comin !
Works great for walleye as well but I like smith wick the best

Perking your bait is one thing, but will it be swallowed is the ultimate question!
Hey Randy, so have you seen the e line, just saw it today. What the heck is next, nuts.
Who makes it?
Kinda like shaking a minner the livescope boys do
Well damn... time to graduate from Kindergarten Randy! Guess thats why I always sucked with a jerk bait... lol
What was the model you felt was a sleeper discontinued megabass jerkbait? Live x revenge?
Couldn’t be the Live X Revenge because they still make them, mainly in respect series colors

If you are breaking 6lb line on the snap/jerk, you have the wrong rod or are doing it much too hard.

Seriously?….i use 8lb. fluorocarbon (in and around cover) and rarely lose a lure while catching plenty of bass. Use your drag correctly.
Sounds like hover strolling a jerk bait. Only without using ffs
Some rivers and lakes are not so good for jerkbait unless you have ffs
