- This video explores the abilities, powers, and origin of the Marvel Comics character "Joe Fixit." From the Grey Hulk being the initial vision of Stan Lee representing the image of Frankenstein's monster and personality of Doctor Jekyll / Mister Hyde, coming to share the host Bruce Banner with the green Savage Hulk along with other personas, having the title of the smartest Hulk for many years, having questionable morals and tactics due to him embodying some darker and selfish traits of Banner, a popular stint as Las Vegas mob enforcer, waffling between heroic and villainous behavior, to being the only Hulk that's able to take control of Bruce Banner's human form; Let's take a look at this iconic Marvel anti-hero, and the strongest gangster there is. This includes a short, canon character biography and my own opinionated "Sage Rating," which I use to give ratings of comic book and science fiction characters.

Ha! Ha! Those were good times! I wish that the Professor Hulk in Avengers:Endgame was more like that iteration-both an erudite intellectual and a man of action.
Joe Fixit is one of the best versions of the Hulk and anyway,like New Sage said,Hulk was originally grey in his first appearance.
@@JR-ju3kj It makes perfect sense that some of his alter-egos resulted from Banner being influenced by pop culture as a young man. Joe Fixit reminds me a little bit of Lou Cabrazzi from The Godfather. Professor kind of reminds me of Dutch from Predator.

The MCU is sleeping on the chance to do a movie where Banners personality starts to fracture and as it does it creates alternate versions of him and hulk. It would be so good
I mean, being that Banner and co are a DID system, that original split would have happened when Banner was a child- which would also make them finally address the horrors of his home life. What's always fascinated me about Banner is that he has what would, for anyone else, have been a supervillain origin story. But not him. Not any form of him. Fixit is arguably the real Hyde of the system, but he's not evil.
@@misterblueskyyy I completely agree with you. That's what got me interested to him in the first place. The Immortal Hulk run was one of the best in a long time. If they would do that, he would be an immediate fan-favourite along the MCU fans, judging by how much of a fan-favourite Bucky is.
It would be awesome if done right but with Ruffalo they'd just try to turn it into a comedy and ruin it. A movie like that would be amazing with Edward Norton though. Too bad we'll never get him back

1:39 Joe can lift over 75 tons at base. He's casually lifted a tank which can weigh between 60 to 70 tons. He's also the one who destroyed the asteroid twice the size of earth and he wasn't even angry. He's also lifted a pyramid and thrown it while Wonder Man who can lift 40,000+ tons struggled to lift it.

Mr. Fix it...best Hulk ever. He went through almost everyone in the marvel universe. Fought cosmic spiderman and lived got the respect of Namor, Wolverine, and The Punisher. No one does that. 💪👊👍
Imagine a Hulk movie where we see different personalities of Banner, and we get to see Joe Fixit.

I'd rather see an animated series based around the absolutely amazing 'The Immortal Hulk' book... *IF* they could put it on par with the quality of the better DC animated stuff, like BTAS, JL/JLU, Teen Titans, or the Batman & Harley Quinn movie. Marvel may be kicking DC's ass in terms of the live-action films, but they aren't even close with most of their animated productions. There are some exceptions on both sides, of course- 'Teen Titans GO!' sucks IMO, and 'Ultimate Spiderman' was really good; but as a general rule DC is notably ahead of the animated competition.
So, I kinda fell off from Marvel a bit agi, the last thing I remember is Secret Empire, and that was a bit ago. I do know that Hulk is pulling his strength from hell, and that Thor is the Herald of Galactus, but that's it.

@@averagejoe2402 It would be a pain to try to explain in a comment, lol. The story is pretty complex and deep for a Hulk book. Also, the art is FANTASTIC, some of the best the big green guy has had in years. I suggest checking out the either the Comicstorian or Caped Joel channels here on TH-cam for coverage. Both go over the book in fair detail, with shots from it, as each issue comes out.
May be in some multiverse.

“Joe Fix it” since Bruce has already experimented on himself as “Smart Hulk”.
If there was a way he lost some of his gamma exposure to turn grey and to have a different persona that introduces Joe Fix I it.
My theory is he somehow transferred a part of him to “before” She Hulk which is the reason for the new Disney + series.

See this is why I say fantastic video, narration and content because you cover the characters fully. Take for instance the covering point you made of the Hulk starting out gray but to me the Gray Hulk will always mean Mr. Fixit. I loved this character especially when he and Wolverine teamed up showing that Wolverine really lived that life during that old school gangster time. Joe Fixit was a beast, love that you covered that even with the strength that he does have he still found the need to fight dirty and I mean dirty . I truly believe that Stan Lee and the writers at Marvel really had fun writing this character. I say again and very much so mean it fantastic video, narration and content like always. The Hulk's design is originally based on DC's Solomon Grundy, while the story is based on The strange case of Dr.Jekyll & Mr. Hyde novel. The 60's fear of nuclear radiations did the rest.

I’m enjoying it, too. It’s nice to see Gray Hulk getting significant character development again and doing something other than just slumming around Las Vegas.
Joe represents the rebellious teenager Bruce never got to be.

Just a heads-up,not to discourage you on your dream because I never like to discourage people on their dreams and whatever it is that they want to do in life but it's also good to be realistic when we have dreams and to know what we would be getting into and to do as much research as possible,beforehand.
Writing for Marvel and DC,will mean that you won't have any creative freedom and ownership over the characters that you create(if,any) while working for them.They have a long,sordid history of screwing over creators/employees.They even did it to the great and legendary Stan Lee and Jack Kirby!
Again,best of luck on your journey and I hope you achieve that dream in following your passion! But again, just know what you're getting into and know what to expect if you go to work for Marvel and later DC-they're two big corporate machines and they don't want the artists and the writers to shine,as Marc Silvestri(former Marvel artist and one of the co-founders of Image Comics)said.

I thought Fixit was the only Hulk that doesn't get stronger when he gets angrier.
Still, I think there is a difference between Fixit and the initial incarnation of the Grey Hulk: In the beginning, Grey seemed to be more consumed with self-hatred than Fixit would be later -- and, of course, more than the childlike Savage Green Hulk. This aspect seemed to me somewhat lessened by the second issue (in which, of course, he was colored green).
Maybe, I'm making more of this than Stan did in the original book, but that's how I always felt.
Fixit gets stronger as he gets angry...but because he's more intelligent than the Savage Hulk his level of rage is lesser....but I like this Hulk because where he lack in strength, he makes up for it by being cunning, mean and dirty in a fight.

Gray Hulk isn’t the only personality that has taken over Bruce’s body. The savage Hulk personality would emerge in Bruce’s body when the merged hulk would become enraged. This occurred in Incredible Hulk #425, and lasted until issue 447 of Peter David’s run.

I think Marvel did a retcon on that (Savage Bruce Banner) during the Semper Fugit Hulk storyline.
@@3912James no. That wasn’t a retcon of what I described. Tempest Fugit just demonstrated that Bruce’s dissociative identity disorder was always present even before the gamma bomb went off.. Peter David wrote both stories
Sad as I'll be to see it end, I can't wait for Immortal Hulk to wrap up so Sage can cover that material.... There have been cool things done with a lot of otherwise minor characters in that book!
With him being in control of his Hulk form in the MCU now, it could be the perfect time to introduce this character. He could be the unseen enemy for most of the film perhaps even dropping bread crumbs that make people think the enemy is the Kingpin. There's a lot that could be done with the character.

Well, in the comics. Captain American downed Professor Hulk by punching him in the balls. If that was typical normal Savage Hulk. Cap likely would have been grabbed and ripped in two or hung on a flagpole. Or been the flagpole.
