Especially after seeing what happened with Ben and David, I can confidently say MSC will not be on my cruise selection.

I loved the Meraviglia and went on her twice. I am worried about my Seashore booked for Sept but will keep an open mind.
Hopefully they will make the improvements needed. Felt like they needed more staff but we aren’t sure.

I can’t see us trying MSC anytime soon, that’s really too bad about their poor management.
That’s exciting you’re cruising on Sun Princess and Rotterdam this year! We are booked on these two ships for Christmas and can’t decide which one to pick! We have a young teen who’s a foodie & also loves kids clubs. We’re usually on Disney or Royal, and tried one Carnival (not for us).Too crowded and too loud all the time.
Anyway, can’t wait to hear about the next group cruise, maybe we can leave our kids at home and join! (Pretty much down to cruising during school breaks with the kids now). Hope you both feel better soon!
Thanks for your comment. We are looking forward to checking out the Sun this fall. We have taken a pause on cruising with Carnival due to the same reasons that you have mentioned. It would be wonderful if you are able to join us on our group cruise.🛳
I will be cruising on Nieuw Amsterdam for the first time in November 2024 and on Celebrity for the first time in April 2025 and on Sky Princess for the first time in January 2026. I have always cruised RCL but decided to try some of the other cruise lines. Really looking forward to see the differences. As a solo cruiser these days, I love any and all advice and suggestions.
We will also be curious to see how you feel about those three different lines. Your RCL loyalty status will transfer to Celebrity - which is a bonus. HAL will certainly be a quieter experience, where Princess will be more a tamed down version of RCL.

It wasn’t our best cruise experience.😷
We were considering an MSC just to see what it’s like because of the price point. The Seashore is definitely OUT. Maybe we’ll try the Seaside to see how it goes.
We definitely had a much higher quality cruise on the Seaside was our experience.🛳
I just disembarked Seashore last week and it was amazing! It's bizarre that the reviews are all over the place.

I hope you try Carnival again but maybe for places other than Caribbean and NOT during school break times (we are HAL loyalists mostly but have had 8 wonderful Carnival cruises). I'm thinking most of your past Carnival experiences were great or you wouldn't have sailed with them as much as you did. But I'm not defending Carnival per say, just hoping you'll reconsider that line in the future.
I'm sorry that you had such awful experiences, especially in dining spaces on MSC. I can't weigh in here as haven't cruised that line. But we trust your evaluations.
We are sure the day will come that we sail Carnival again - as we had a great run with them. MSC - we had one good and one not so good cruise with them. Not sure what to think. We can now travel outside school breaks - so that will be a new thing for sure.
If you don't book the Yacht Club, don't book MSC.
We hear that from a lot of people. We did the MAX bid for an MSC upgrade and didn't get it.
So sad to hear that this venue was so bad. I do not eat at the buffets at all. I am not a fan at all. The hygiene of the public is not so great. I could never cruise MSC just for this. So sad. What a shame their ships look absolutely beautiful.

Didn't get sick until after the cruise and en route home.

Insurance, insurance, insurance

@warrenwolf4690 for sure. We've had family go through that - it takes a while to get the insurance reimbursements, but it works.

I prefer Celebrity. Too many bad reviews on MSC
In my opinion, MSC is a notch below Carnival and a notch higher than Margaritaville at Sea cruises
We have yet to sail with Celebrity which we really want to. Unfortunately there is a giant price point difference between the two cruise lines.

Yes, we have many other lines we will be trying before giving MSC another shot - maybe a smaller older ship? We'll see.
