Eggman's defeated animation from this fight and his line of "Wouldn't the door have been easier?" make me laugh much harder than any joke in Sonic Colors, Generations, or Lost World.

His radar didn’t show anything, the hedgehog obviously didn’t have all the Chaos Emeralds, but anything could happen… perhaps that annoying fox-boy was following them in his plane? Who could know?... No, he wanted to make quite sure the hedgehog was dead this time. He wanted to see his body blown apart, his eyes wide with shock, his legs twisted and broken, unable to run ever again… he wanted to see Sonic splatter against the front of his creation... and now a horrible smile creased his face, because over the howling winds, he heard a voice calling out to her hero… “Sonic, watch out! He’s still trying something!” Eggman nodded. He most certainly was. And afterward, he knew where the princess was… he could retrieve her at a whim, limp back to the Aquatic Base, finish his plan… “Here I come, Sonic!” The Egg-Wyvern dove at Sonic one last time, one last attack that would end this war once and for all… but in that instant before it would have ended forever, Sonic bounced up… (Copied from here - fav.me/d4zpf0b )
This fight is pretty similar to the egg viper from sonic adventure 1 with the laser attacks, the "can you make it here?" part and the last ditch "He's trying something!" part at the end.
0:37 Could this be what was happening while the Egg Carrier was crashing "earlier"? Maybe Sonic's later self was fighting this boss while his earlier self witnessed the Egg Carrier crash, leading him to believe that Elise died in the crash.
How did I not realize that.. This game is focused on the causal loop type of time travel. Just like when Shadow meets Mephiles for the first time and doesn’t know how Mephiles even knew him. Mephiles knew Shadow because in the past, Shadow’s future self sealed him in the Scepter of Darkness, and Mephiles was angry.
Fun fact people: During development of the much rushed Sonic'06 game freakin' Metal Sonic was supposed to be in this game with HIS own story!!! Damn cheapskates rushing to get a christmas release; wrap your minds around that!
IDK. If you ever plaid the original Sonic the Hedgehog, the Final Zone boss was rather difficult. In Sonic the Hedgehog 2, the Death Egg Robo was another really challenging boss. Eggman also came really close to killing Sonic in Sonic Adventure 2. All that would've had to happen was Sonic never attempt Chaos Control with Tails' fake emerald.
Jack The Hedgehog I never played that game, but I do remember Eggman being so intelligent to the point where he deceived Sonic and nearly sent him to his death in a capsule. He was pretty different there too.
what about in Sonic Unleashed in that game Eggman broke the Earth into 7 pieces and he turned Sonic into a Werehog he also awakened a giant beast named Dark Gaia that has the potential to destroy all of the Earth instead of just breaking it into 7 pieces
I honestly really liked the music of this boss, the idea of it was also really interesting, and it was a pretty decent challenge. I think that this game would be pretty good if Sega released it with updated graphics, less glitches, and a better story.
The graphics are actually really good. The two biggest things people have bashed this game for are 1) the glitches, and 2) the story. Now the story is easy to know what's going on based on simply watching cutscene videos on TH-cam, but I never actually plaid the game to give my input on the gameplay experience itself, so that's why I never have given a full opinion about the gameplay.
06 has the same problems that forces has. It's plot was incosistent, the gameplay was mediocre at best compared to it's prodecessors, and it tried and failed to deliver a serious tone for itself. However I feel the main reason that 06 is hated all around by all is fact of the matter is it had so much potential to be that next legendary Sonic game but failed in almost every catagory to meet expectations. That and it doesn't help that there are that of people that bandwagon on the Sonic hate train. Granted there is still fun to be had with the game like any other but it doesn't change the fact that for it's time it could've been argued that that was Sonic at it's worst. Nowaday not so much since Rise of Lyric is a thing.

I find the levels to be SA1 tier of freedom. There's a lotta branching paths but its held back by the amount of automation. Kingdom Valley and Crisis City (except for the mach speed section) was pretty good.
In fact every character was suppossed to have their own story. That could have had better character development with better story and a much smoother way to get used to their many different controls!
This boss fight would look awesome and sound awesome with heavy rain drops and massive thunderstorm with lightning in the screen of the egg wyvern boss fight and the sound effects of it as well.
@RockinRobert19 version is that the framerate is a little bit better in the PS3 version. Plus this game has the most emotionally engaging, well thought out, and epic storyline out of all of the Sonic games and feels like an epic movie when watching the story. And the music is just perfect. This game has the best Sonic soundtrack hands down. Most people give it a 4.3 but I give an 8.9 out of 10.
People may say 06 sucks, but I've definitely had more fun fighting the bosses in this game and think they were more creative and unique then most other 3d Sonic games that came out after this.

This boss I found the most annoying one of all. First the controls are switch when flying the mech, you have to time it when homing attack it just right. And without the gem, the last part always get me. :(

It would be more realistic if he exposed his weak point, but not on purpose.

What Sonic team should do is remake this game, make some really heavy changes to the characters and storylines (like make the princess a kid and see sonic as an "older brother" figure or something) and give the whole gameplay the generations do over...and finally: make Silver FAST!. He can use his psychic powers to go fast like he did on Generations boss battle!
Oh and install an antena on a ship that isnt remotely controlled,oh and make it control the entire dragon just by turning it,or and providing Sonic the robots he needed to hit the cockpit LIKE A BOSS
It looks like it's a little bit more of a challenge than the Egg Viper, though. You know, this game could've been a lot more enjoyable had it not been for the glitches.

This game should’ve been called Sonic Adventure 3.
I'm positive that this is the only Sonic game where Dr. Eggman has a fully round head. Creey. Why Sega tried something like that is beyond me.
What eggman have to do is simply smash ALL the platforms, but NOOO, he have to defeat Sonic LIKE A MAN!

What Sonic team should do is remake this game, make some really heavy changes to the characters and storylines (like make the princess a kid and see sonic as an "older brother" figure or something) and give the whole gameplay the generations do over...and finally: make Silver FAST!. He can use his psychic powers to go fast like he did on Generations boss battle!

Oh and install an antena on a ship that isnt remotely controlled,oh and make it control the entire dragon just by turning it,or and providing Sonic the robots he needed to hit the cockpit

It looks like it's a little bit more of a challenge than the Egg Viper, though. You know, this game could've been a lot more enjoyable had it not been for the glitches.
