    I've been saying this sine I got mine months ago... for the price the Boker is SO solid and such a great EDC knife. I love how solid and substantial it feels (liners have no milling and I like it). I call the shape "the Tactical Butter knife"

    That rattling would drive me crazy on the boker as would the blade play on the kershaw. For the price I would look at the vosteed raccoon

    Aloha from Hawaii! I've been car6eying my Kihon for almost a year now here in Hawaii. Rust isn't as bad an issue
    as I thought it would be, but I did bend the flimsy pocket clip. Fortunately, Amazon has a replacement if you search for "titanium deep carry Spyderco pocket clip" and retain the original screws. The thumbstuds seem to be in a bad spot for deploying the blade, so I just pull the lock back and flick it out.

      A large percentage of the customer base lives in states that cap legal carry for a folder at 3.5”. Mass produced knives will naturally match with what the masses can carry.

    I've had some great luck with Boker over the years. Definitely had some bad ones. Their big negative seems like their expansive lineup leads to lower QC mass produced knives. When they're good, they're great. When they're bad, its pretty much a total failure. I still support them because they end up producing a ton of great designs at a reasonable price. Great knives for work

    1. excellent review
    2. my need is different. I don't wear a folder with a clip. Why? Because I wear running shorts almost 365 days a year.
    3. today, I am carrying an old used Spyderco Endura with the broken plastic clip shaved off. I have a few like this.
    4. despite my training, my age and lack of dexterity directs me to a spped-safe Kershaw 3655 if I think I might into a situation requiring quick deployment. I have taken off the metal clips.

    East pick for me........Boker. Don't like the blade shape on the kershaw. Plus its loose. Its plain. Its a shorter handle. Harder to deploy. Not as robust. He is absolutely right about the pocket clips. Plus its cheaper by a good amount, at that price range. Like I said, easy choice.

  • @Hamilkar32
    @Hamilkar32 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I feel like for Boker it's a missed opportunity. The knife is great overall, but they opted to go with not skeletonised liners. That made the knife feeling much heavier than it could/should be. I don't understand the reasoning of that move. To cut the cost? I would assume that it could be much more popular than it is if it was lighter.
    For heavy use folder I will stay with Griptilian any day of the week. Its lighter, with a better steel, even for more money. Its totally worth it.
    Hope Boker will release more premium version of the this knife. With no cutting of corners. But for now, it's more of a disappointment for me unfortunately.

    G'day Aaron, think I've mentioned before, the Heist really reminds me of the BM Freek, ..... one of the lesser butterfly taxed models ; ) I expect because of the half length liners, which incidentally, together with the light weight handle material, results in quite a forward blade weighted job, ... which I do get on very well with.
    However, I usually do go with full liners regardless and I reckon either of these designs will suit those that want/need a decent/solid all round folder, without breaking the bank, .... personally I'm not a fan, but if one is happy enough with D2, you probably cant go wrong.
    And yep, with ya mate, wire pocket clips are superior practically, .......... wish I had 'em across the board.
    Cheers Duke.
