great points! im glad that more games are cross platform now. i remember in the past not being able to play certain games with friends due to the game not being cross platform.
There are a lot of things wrong with gaming right now. Most involve VC and Covid after effects. But crossplay is not one of those things. The console wars ended on 2/28/2017, with the announcement of game pass. With Sony putting all future 1st party games on PC, the Xbox everywhere initiative and later porting games to PS & Switch, it’s a wrap. Nintendo is the only real exclusive console left and even those days may be numbered.

THANK FUCK" Two groups of people arguing about nothing and because it's those people arguing, they don't actually own the other thing, and so all of their arguments are completely nonsensical and have no way to back up their facts without deliberately lying or misconstruing facts to make their plastic box seem better. I was always forced into the console war as a kid because I didn't have money outside of allowance, birthday, and christmas money and bought the ps3 purely because internet was free and my parents wouldn't pay the xbox live subscription. And because of that decision I was viewed as less than by the other kids in school as the majority had a 360. Thankfully all my friends who had a different consoles didn't care about the console war crap. Now as an adult, when I have the money and time for it, I try to play on everything.
To be honest, I honestly kind of miss the rivalry Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo used to have. Because it brought out some of the best times for console gaming in general, Exclusives speaheaded a lot of innovation and made picking between which console to buy super trivial. Nowadays were lucky to even see Xbox release a couple of games in the past few years, Nintendo is in its own league at this point, and PlayStation is in this unchecked dominance for people who don't want to switch to PC for their gaming, so they could just do whatever they want with no power check besides switching to PC.
It barely played on xbox one iirc so microsoft didn't bother. They aren't really supporting the old xbox one so I doubt they are gonna support the ps4.
I got GTA5 on pc recently. I wanted to do multiplayer online with a friend who is on xbox x. To my disappointment it turned out to be impossible. Im still in shock. Roblox, fortnite, minecraft crossplatform multiplayer is obvious thing.
I play on steam now so no issue anymore but back on xbox I had trouble with Headsets because I have hearing loss and xbox only allowed for certain headsets. With discord I can use my hearig aid as a Wireless chat headset and that is sooo cool 😊
@@Snowy3011 Sure, a game like Minecraft is a perfect multiplatform title. That said, I do think console exclusives, especially those developed in-house lead to a healthier, more creative, less risk-averse gaming industry.

@@rrwholloway That's true if we ignore the mountains of terrible games on previous consoles and that the majority of the good games weren't that different to what came before, other than having improvements that came with advancing technology.

I love every home consols, handheld consoles, and now PC handheld like Steam Deck, Lenovo Legion Go, and Asus Rog Ally X. Enjoying every games.

yeah Im appalled that they've chosen to just port Gears and Halo to PS4. Little me wouldn't've ever in a million years imagined that happening.

It hurts me so much not having Sea of Thieves on the PS4... The console can perfectly reproduce those graphics.

The only people who are participate in console wars now are small children or depressing man children who still have the mindset of a small child.
What's going on with gaming right now is NOT what I would call a good thing.
there’s many downsides but playing a game like minecraft with a playstation, xbox, switch, and pc all at the same time is a good thing for the players
