Today is bittersweet as I celebrate my both my daughter’s 14th birthday, and the first anniversary of my mom’s passing away. I was obliged to spend the day celebrating with family (for obvious reasons) whilst wanting to be alone in quiet (also for obvious reasons). Richard - Re Liverpool Cathedral. I was 6 and had just been told off for 'thumping' the piano with the sustaing pedal on. I wanted to know why Mum wasn't telling the organist off for playing the organ with the sustaining pedal on. I didn't understand about echos... :-). She did say though they always had a good giggle at the organist's name (Goss-Custard) when she was at school.
