First of all, nice video; the one thing I'd like to have seen is the audio recording feature. I'm on the hunt for a nice note taking app that simultaneously records audio. I've found one, but it is EXTREMELY LIMITED on features. Thanks for sharing.
The custom paper pattern can be made by drawing on some sheet and saving as a pattern, This will create a corresponding JavaScript code, that you can same somewhere. You can share this code, and other people just have to paste it in that box. And you can actually use your fingers to zoom in and out even using the pen, you just have to set the limit distance between fingers at the settings. Basically, we can configure everything on Lecture XD But the menu is kinda confusing, so its hard to figure it out on our own SNote is better for people that likes to create computer-like notes. But, as a engineering student, i need to make a lot of sketches, equations and weird looking symbols, so i rather use Lecture Notes, towards the freedom it gives me to create things that makes sense to me :p
semester started TODAY, so could you please tell me which is the quickest way to learn lecturenotes, please? And is there a possibility to use lecture video Fullscreen? I only get a small video frame ;-(
Snote has a couple things that make math notes much easier. These include the shape function for easy graph making, and formula match, which can convert handwritten formulas to text and solve them for you. The formula match is a bit gimmicky and doesn't offer realistic use inside the classroom. LectureNotes would be better in this case, because math notes are more handwritten. and Lecture Notes offers better palm rejection for quick and easy handwritten note-taking, and a great cut/paste feature
I really love LN, too! The JavaScript thingy for the paper patterns is annoying for me too. But, in case you don't know, the developer has a thread in XDA where he collects codes for different patterns and, if you ask him, he is usually pretty awesome and codes what you need :) Search "LectureNotes - custom pattern JavaScript codes" Also, the next big update is going to be custom drawing tools. They will be in JavaScript too, but will allow for strictly vertical/horizontal lines, for example.
Lol I like both of them too.. Last semester I used lecture notes for half of the semester then switched to S Note for the rest of the semester. For me S Note Is easier to use and I like editing my pdf files using S note. Lecture Notes is great after I go into the settings and fix it to do what ever I want it to do which is a plus. I also have lecture recording and that works great with LN. Grr I like them both but I just think S Note is a little more user friendly
Hello Lamotte Arthur, Yes you can but it is a bit tricky, it does not work with Gdrive but does work with dropbox, it is called dropsync. How it works is you choose a folder on your tablet that you want to constantly sync, (there are several ways you can sync it, two-way, one-way etc.) This works nicely, especially if the files on your tablet get deleted. What I plan to do however, is just share each note I take via email and print it out, because thats easier for me. Let me know if this helps.
Benjamin, thanks for the reply. I'm actually looking to an app that has the same functionality (or very close to it) as S-Pen Voice Pro. It sounds as if Lecture Notes "may have" a similar functionality with the addition of the audio package you mentioned. S-Pen Voice Pro has the ability to record audio at the same time you are taking notes (and it synchronizes your notes with the audio), but is VERY limited as a note taking app. Your thoughts?
I can not say how well lecture recordings is since I have never used it, but I assure you if you emailed the developer with thoughts or questions, he would reply quickly answering them and even applying your ideas into the next update. For S note, the each page allows you to record your voice, however, your notes do not play back with your voice. It is just a recording of your voice for each page of notes. There is the ability to actually record what you draw in S not, but it is very limited.
Thx for answering. I'm not sure I understand "if the files ... get deleted" : does it mean you have to delete them each time you save a newly edited file, so that the file as it was previously is not kept along with its furtherly edited state? But then in what way is it synced ? Secondly : are you talking about the "dropsync" app on Gplay? If so, is "lectureNote" (for instance) able to recognise it? I'm asking because these systems are not usually as compatible as they claim to be..
Hi Benjamin, one thing I wanted to ask you : say you're a student who wants to take notes for year or semester lectures, once you've saved your note as pdf on Gdrive, can you easyly open it again afterward and edit it and resave it at each course of your yearly lecture? Or do you have to save it on another format or somewhere else than Gdrive? Because that is really a pbm with most android Notetaking apps : it is not thought for yearly student, but more as if you only had one day of lesson.. thx
They both have a audio recording option that works very well.. the only difference is with lecture notes you have to purchase a separate app called lecture recording that works along with lecture notes. If you have Snotes i would recommend using it and then test out lecture recordings if S note doesnt work how you want it too.
One more question though, if you don't mind : is it possible to select the whole text (once the stylus input is translated into txt) you've been writing at the last intended class for instance, then copy and paste into a googleDoc ? And to select all, is it possible to make a Ctrl+A or has it got to be another way ? Is this circle possible : you 1° take notes with a stylus, 2° copy them to a Gdoc 3° Have the LectureNotes copybook back to a blank page that can be filled again as in 1°, etc..?
thanks very mucht! I found it, and it works perfect. is there anywhere a documentation for die App? i search for other things like, to jumpt to the left side if im at the end of the line and the special erasermode and so on ;)
yes, you just write normally, and then use the selection too to select what you drew and an option to"transform to-->shape" will come up and itll shapify your graphs, shapes etc

Markus,
You go to settings, tools, and select auto scroll page, then go to auto scroll page set up and set it up to work how u want it too.

Hi Benjamin, thank you for this review.
I'm a math student, do you think is better Snote or LectureNotes for math. notes?

Can you open and annotate powerpoints with either of these? What about pdfs?
Muchas Gracias guapetón. Me has aclarado muchas cosas. :D Super Like!!!
Can you make a text box in lecture notes and move it around?
oh one question when u take notes on a tablet and u want to study for test do u stay directly from the tablet ?
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Let me know if you want a review or an explanation video on anything in particular.
You can convert the power point to pdf then import into lecture notes to annotate... I haven't tried in s note so I am not sure.
If u want documentation of everything the app does go to the help section and it breaks down every setting what it does and how to do it....
Yes you can copy and paste the text.
Very detailed review. Much appreciated!! xD
