That’s not the PSOne version, that’s clearly the PC version of F1 97 as no way could the PSOne have textures that clear (they are perspective correct for a start, no wobbly textures) and it’s higher resolution than what the PSOne was capable of. I had F1 97 on the PSOne and while great looking for the time and the system it never looked as good as shown here.
Judging by the footage, it's definitely F1 97 on the PC - same pop-in after the tunnel, same track side textures (excluding sponsors), same texture filtering, same lighting.
Is it just me or does the old game make Monaco look wider than it actually is? If only it was really that wide, me might actually get to see some racing instead of 77 faster parade laps.
It would also help if the cars were smaller - might as well be watching truck racing the way they're built. Still would be difficult but the way they are now is just too unwieldy.
"Look for the eyes of the doorman of the Loews hotel, turn left!"
I used to play the PlayStation 1 version of Formula1 97 for hours. I loved the secret mirrored Adelaide track and played 2 hour races regularly!
You're right there, Murray!
Im amazing how clean that PS1 lap was.
"Monaco remains the only genuine street circuit"
Oh how I wish this was still true
To be fair, most of the street circuits these days are more like road courses lol.
It’ like watching an RC car going around. So small they were
Brundle was 2nd in 1994, Jim Rosenthal with a murrayism 😂
Thank you for the upload. If you have anymore track guides by Brundle commentating over Formula 1 97 footage please do upload.😄

I was wondering about the same thing, just wasn't enough warping textures!

God i miss this
Another 74? Thought it'd be 77 but this race ended with much less laps than both numbers anyways
Was this done for the 1997 season only? Does anyone know if they did this game footage for any other seasons?
Ive always wanted the music they used for these sequences.
It's from The Orbital soundtrack for the Saint movie, IIRC.
@@saturnsixuk yep, it's The Sinner, the B-side of their single of the Saint theme.

Yeah I guess games don't always get the model dimensions correct
I noticed Ferrari 355 Challenge had a wider Ferrari on the PS2 version vs DC
seems 10 times larger
Especially the mirabeaus. Irl those corners are very tight.
Thats the pc version
Looks awful compared to GP2 even lol
Gp2?

Jim Rosehall! An absolutely awful presenter
Better than anyone sky can offer currently
Yet he managed better than when Steve Ryder switched from BBC to ITV.
