I'm sure the ribs are ok, but not great. Some pointers; never, ever cook with 'cooking wine'. Use a wine you would want to drink. Cooking does not make bad tasting food taste good. Also, use real garlic if at all possible. The difference is huge. What she has done is basically braised her ribs. That's fine but if she had put them under the broiler for the last several minutes of cooking, they would be so much better.

Duke Of Hesse well then whats cooking wine for?

    • @ronvavra
      @ronvavra 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@jujyfruitz8394 It has no place in any decent cooking. Rule #1 when cooking; use good ingredients. Some people assume because a certain ingredient is one of many, that its quality doesn't matter. Cooking wine is a bad idea because it is a very low quality wine, and no respectable cook ever, ever uses it.

China calling. That is not how we cook ribs in China. First, the ribs are never served or cooked in one long piece. The are chopped into bite size pieces so that we can eat them with chopsticks.
The soy sauce you use is Japanese; not Chinese. We never use red wine. Garlic powder is unknown in China; we use real garlic.
And the red color comes from a red yeast that grows on rice; not artificial food coloring.
I'm sure your ribs taste just fine, but please don't call them Chinese just because they have hoisin sauce in them!

These are not Chinese ribs. They are American.
    a) Ribs in China are cut into bite size pieces.
    b) The soy sauce you used in Japanese
    c) Red wine is not used in China
    d) Garic powder is not used in China
    e) Red food colouring is not used either
    f) Ribs are not baked. Very few people in China have ovens. Few restaurants have ovens!

  • @kenfletcher1240

You clearly know nothing about real Chinese food.
    1) Ribs are always chopped into bite sized pieces so they can be eaten with chopsticks.
    2) You are using Japanese soy sauce!
    3) Red cooking wine? No such thing in Chinese cooking.
    4) 1 tablespoon of 5-spice is ridiculous
    5) Garlic powder is never used. In fact, no stores have it.
    6) Ribs are not oven-cooked. No one in China has an oven!
    This is American food!
