    Is the citizen field watch and the SARB the same size bc the citizen looks smaller for some reason

    Good starter collection. Can't go wrong with an eco-drive . Now you can slim down that Japanese collection and push towards Swiss and/ or German watches.

      Has a feature where if the lug bar breaks you won't lose the watch.

      I also like that they don't scratch up your laptop if you're doing a lot of typing like a metal bracelet will.

    I'm looking forward to seeing what all the fuss is about with the SKX013. And an Orient to complete the trifecta of major Japanese watch brands.
    Those small, cheap Casios rock. Light, loaded with functionality, economical and surprisingly well-made for the price.
    Current favorite watch: Seiko SARB017 Alpinist.

  • @95ryanj
    @95ryanj 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I know that the Orient Ray is often compared to the Seiko SKX, but to me it's pretty clear that the Ray is the superior watch. More refined design, better finish, kickass dial. However, I do appreciate the cult following of the Seiko. Orient's got some catching up to do there

    I have the Eco Drive version of your Citizen Promaster and it is great. Like it better than Seiko SKX. Have you checked Momentum watches? some on sale. Not bad

    wow that citizen watch towards the end look like a gud buy. Looking for a diving watch. Currently got Seiko 5 sport but i don't like how the bezel feels. Like how the citizen is very tactile.

      I'd suggest the Seiko Prospex Solar Diver (SSC015) it's about $200 on Jomashop and it is very well built. I got mine a few days ago and I am very pleased with it.

  • @neilpiper9889
    @neilpiper9889 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have taken your advice and had some therapy.
    Also I have found a better way to use a nato.
    I am buying a leather one now like you have on the Jdm Sarb.
    I am trying it on my Orient Bambino Blue V4 or my Blue sailboat Vostok Amphibia.

      neil piper well let me tell ya that you must have a bloody good life if someone else’s choice of watch band is what really pisses you off. By the way there the most preferred by almost everyone in the watch collecting community. We’ll see if we can book you a spot on DR Phil hey to help you get through this.

    but how can you keep those mechanical watches running everyday? you dont wear all of them everyday, right?

    • @ArthurR

      Sometimes i wear 3 watches on each arm.

    • @iHaejeog
      @iHaejeog 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A couple of light shakes back and forth should bring them back to life. Watch winders are also a solution to keeping automatic watches running, but I just let them run down if I don't wear them.

  • @paulhanson6008
    @paulhanson6008 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice review of a basic watch collection. I own a basic collection, including a G shock...very robust for outdoor activity. I also own a seiko sportura which I really like and a nice gold Rotary dress watch. I'm looking at a datejust or a sarb 035!....bit of a difference in price and status however, in terms of build quality, it's hard to justify spending 20x the price of the seiko, just to own a rolex! Just to add, I've also bought some cheaper automatics from ebay but have found it's a bit of a lottery when it comes to reliability and now tend to buy new to avoid disappointment.

    Very interesting. I think a watch collector should not allowed more than 8 pieces, besides each piece got to be a KEEPER, otherwise you only dress 3 or 4 mostly. Now, back to your collection i think you should change the Seiko, keeping the Orient, and, of course replace it with that Seiko Alpinist, trust me.

  • @edloki3057

      Lol I was like that at first too. I never liked the look of divers, but then eventually I understood why people like them so much. They are unique and unlike basic watches.
