I saw someone saying that Pau does not deserve to withdraw the 16 that was not so great in the lakers as for that recognition and it turns out that they had Gasol 16 the best Spanish player of all time and they did not know how to value him. You just have to put this video to solve your doubts. Pau was a great without Pau they would have 2 less rings.
I agree with you, I hope he does. He would just have to fit the criteria of being a hall of famer to get that jersey retired. I think his body of work speaks for itself with the nba, and overseas. Rookie of the year, 4 time all star, 2 championships, 2 silver olympic medals, 1 fiba championship and tourney MVP. I think he's got enough to get in.
krlm2280 I’m late to the party, but I don’t know if Pau’s number with the Lakers should be retired when placed in comparison with the rest of he Lakers’ greats. But let me be clear, I would not oppose it in any way as Pau has without a doubt had a HOF career. Also as Kobe said, his fans tend to forget Pau Gasol was very important for the Lakers’ championships in both 2009 and 2010. I hope his brother Marc can win a ring some day.
@@Doatello1991 let me answer that question with another. Name one Laker player who played at least 6 years and won 2 rings being a centerpiece player of championship Laker teams, and who is a Hall of Famer, and hasn't his jersey up on the Staples Center. Whose name comes up?. There is none. There you go. Gasol is currently standing at 98.7% projection of being a 1st ballot Hall of Famer and he has at least one or two further seasons on him before he retires. He's a certain future Hall of Famer. And as such and as a result of his years as a Laker and his two rings as a centerpiece of the championship teams, #16 will eventually stand up there. There's just no question about that.
Horry only got rings for being on good teams, lmfao. Gasol has individual awards that speak for himself and was the second best on the Lakers when they won back to back titles.
chill, Horry was a beast and there's a reason why all of the teams he played for ended up winning it all and there's a reason why he was a major key player in all of those teams. He was athletic, played good D, one of the best and dangerous clutch shooter and etc. Not sure about retiring his jersey in Staples but his overall career achievements earned him a spot in the HOF in my books
Class act from the Lakers. Best of luck to Pau and his family in Chicago! Thanks for the two back to back championships!
ElwoodCityDestroyer He's still got family
ElwoodCityDestroyer Doubt it..But he's got family
Wow! 7 seasons with the Lakers... It went by fast! I still remember his first game as a Laker as if it was yesterday. Thanks Pau and great video!
Well deserved standing O and video tribute. Always a Laker! Thank Pau!
Well deserved! Thank you Pau.

you're welcome.
I miss pau so much :( Thank you pau for all you did
Thanks for posting this video :)
The most under appreciated player in Lakers history.
When he get's in the hall of fame I do hope they will retire #16
Amazing!

Great Pau
It's debatable but #16 should be retired with the other laker greats if no one wears it for the next couple of years then he would have that honor

PAU PAU PAU PAU PAU PAU PAU!!!!!
I got a nose bleed watching this video from the nose bleeds
D-Rose got a pretty loud cheer, for what? Haha I bet lots of Bulls fans were at Staples that night
For overcoming adversary
Robert Horry has 8 rings and should be in the HOFer before Gasoft.
Coach Hines haha keep crying hater

He has no individual achievements. Horry's only individual achievement is All-Rookie 2nd Team. Not a HOF caliber player like Gasol.
