    I have lived in Crescent City for 55 years, raised my family and have a good business and still love it here, and I know many who would also love to live here. Yes there is a Prison but you don't see it or even hear about it and it gives jobs that were needed when logging was stopped. I came from the Sacramento HOT Valley and lots of growth and Traffic, Never would live there again.

      Agree. Dropped by for a visit recently & yes though there maybe issues, no different from other cities. It has potential for better things. I find more so issue getting in & out through basically one highway...101. No direct Greyhound bus or Amtrak train available sadly.

      Hi, I know this is random and a bit of a strange request, but I am a writer, and I'm considering setting a young adult novel in Crescent City. I've never been there or even to California, and it'll be a while before I can visit. I would absolutely love to talk to some of the locals or anyone who has seen the place in person in order to get a more authentic idea of CC than Google can provide. If any of you wouldn't mind talking to me, please reply, and I'll give you an email address. I'd be happy to compensate with a little coffee money and acknowledgment in the book should it ever be published.

    I’ve flown into Crescent City at night. The city is beautiful with its street and porch lights.

    Beautifully edited video. I love the piano solo and wish I could find it on line to purchase it. Do you know the composers name? In English.

      Ashley Helms I'd probably get harassed the most because all my kids look entirely different, especially in the summer, even though they have the same parents.

      They run this town it is corrupt from the Crescent City Harbor all the way to the cops. They are not that hard to recognize once you know what too look for. Earlene Burley is one. Northwoods Realty.

      CC is not what it used to be for sure......I love the coast line and Smith River and lived very near redwoods and the Smith river....

    • @JerryRandalBauer
      @JerryRandalBauer 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      One can visit Crescent City and never see any evidence of the prison. It's several miles north of the town proper; one can just barely glimpse it through the trees while driving on 101. Yes, a prison is a not-nice place, but this one does not detract from the natural beauty of the area.

    • @JerryRandalBauer
      @JerryRandalBauer 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, there is about a half-mile of Lake Earl Drive where the prison is exposed to view. It's a rather ugly collection of buildings, made uglier by its purpose and function. But it is a tiny blotch upon an otherwise beautiful place.
