Colonel Miniyothabo Baloyi Chiwenga: The undisputed soldier with a heart of gold

COLONEL Miniyothabo Baloyi-Chiwenga may have come into the limelight due to her marriage to Vice President Dr Constantino Chiwenga, but she is much more than that - she’s a woman of great valour and an unquestionable soldier.
Born in Filabusi in 1976, Colonel Baloyi-Chiwenga’s early aspirations didn’t include a military career. In fact, she initially envisioned herself becoming a journalist. However, when the Zimbabwe National Army introduced the female cadet course in the late 1990s, she decided to take up the challenge, and her life took an unexpected turn.
