Lots of respect for doing this. While I understand you can't do this stuff often, it hurt the Franklin video a lot when you chose money over the extra quality. Ofcourse I understood the choice, but I think it's quite noble to upload this video knowing you'll even lose a bit on it for the betterment of the product you're serving.

The main thing I'm glad about is, that he seems a happier man. Hopefully, the sleep is better, and he definitely seems more smiley than he used to.
One note from game dev here: If in trailer you have for example a different path from a heist it doesn't mean they planned a different route for it, it could literally just be them playing the character and vehicle from the heist in random route to avoid spoiler and create the trailer mood/effects/tension
I'm not sure why Matt was making so many assumptions about the development process just based on arbitraty voice clips coupled with unrelated footage. Many of these "mistakes" could just be deliberate artistic choices that exist only for the trailer. A recontextualization of sorts to change our interpretation of things. They aren't meant to be dissected and speculated upon to that degree. Even the average person should be able to pick up on that, because movies will do this too

The GTA V sleepwalking trailer is my favourite by far. Amazing song getting you hyped for the game
I thought that was one of the many free licence cost-cutting tracks - probably was, as it didn't really make any charts. Take Two should've got their money out and used an actually great/known song. Still haven't - VI uses a weak Tom Petty album track. VC's Emotion FM tracklist > the entire V soundtrack.

@@goatlps Terrible take. One of the reasons why people praise the GTA soundtrack is because they also use good, lesser known songs. You seem to want them to only play the songs that are constantly on the radio in real life.
I thought Sleepwalking was one of the best songs in the game, and that Love Is a Long Road was perfect for the GTA 6 trailer.

Rockstar made such a good job choosing the music for the trailers, it always matches the vibe and the atmosphere perfectly.
I must admit, I did not remember so many missions being showcased in the trailers. It feels like 75% of the big moments in the game are shown off!
42:35 It's pointed out here that in actual GTA online it doesn't show everyone on the map, but that feature actually was there at launch, on the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of GTA Online, the minimap showed every singer player at once (which was more reasonable as the player limit was 16 rather than the 30 that we have now), it was with the PS4 and Xbox One (and as a result the later released PC) versions that changed it so that the icons would fade depending on their distance from the player!!

i remember the rumors when information was leaking, and people heard for the first time you had 3 protagonists and could switch between the 3 at will, it was pretty mind blowing. kind of glad i was there looking at the launch
The Michael one is my favorite, not only was the song choice amazing, but they had the effort of syincing the whole trailer to the song, there are moments where key notes of the song are missing and replaced by impactful sounds from the scenes. It also has a great balance of showcasing epic action, but overlapping it with conversations between Michael and Friedlander, which showcases intimate character development, epic and intimate are often considered opposite words, but the trailer does a great job of displaying both. Have to give it some props for not spoiling too much of the story, showing many scenes but always out of context and to top it off the joke at the end "You have to find a new therapist" can get a chuckle out of anyone.

at 7:01 you say the next 6 trailer could come out a year later. That would make it December when we see the next one. Then you loke at a list of 15 other trailers. I have a feeling there will be more than just one trailer before december '24. Not being a critic just laying my own thoughts out.
They did the same with red dead, they waited even longer before they spam released them like like they did with gta5, would still be possible if we get the second one in december and the rest of them in Q1/Q2 2025

As someone who got gta 5 on launch day for 360, and seen al the trailers before the game game out i am feelin really extremely nostalgic ❤
I always felt like the 1st GTA6 trailer is more similar to the 2nd GTA5 trailer just because of how polished and complete the game looks already. When you see the 1st GTA5 trailer you can see how many things have actually changed, compared to the 2nd trailer and the realease.

One thing worth noting is that the Michael, Franklin and Trevor trailers were released May 2013, and the original release window was Spring 2013.
I wonder, if the original release window was met, would they have released trailers quicker, or if those three would have been bigger parts of TV campaigns...

Honestly I always look forward to the narrated trailers like 31:00 gameplay trailer. They did the same thing for RDR2 and it honestly does just tell you everything important that u can do.

This was awesome. Wasn't there for the hype back in the day but I was there the day it dropped with my buddy. His last day of highschool for some reason or he took the day off. And we screwed around messing with cheats. Man...
I also remembered the missing magazines.. That pissed me off so much because they never fixed it when I was playing online back then.
I barrowed it on ps3 didn't buy it because I had a feeling it was gonna get re released. Definitely jumped on the hype train for that. Was stoked for the PS4 version pre-ordered it and then spent 4 days trying to download it because my internet was trash in my ps4 settings kept shutting the system down.... Good times... Thank you for the reminiscence.. Lot of memories with this game series. Was one of the only things I lost myself in when shit was really rough back then..

Man I remember sitting in my room in the middle of the night back in 2011 reloading the website for the trailer as if that would make the countdown it had go faster, still surprised the site didn't crash back then and was actually load the trailer when it hit zero, wish I could still be as excited about gta6 as I was for 5 back then but I'm too experienced (burned) by now for that to still be a thing.
I remember the day when this game came out, I drove to four "local" stores before I found place that had a copy for sale, i drove about 100 miles total, got home at about 10pm and then played all night.
I honestly don't remember if I had a good time or not. I do remember getting burgers at 2am but the game? nah. The trailers definitely worked for me though.

This was nostalgic. I was a huge GTA fan during this time, I remember the first time I saw GTAV teased on TV.
The switching between the players mechanic was EXTREMELY hyped up. I don't know why but the idea of changing players in real time was like a crazy concept in 2013. At least that's how I remember it when I was like 11-12 years old lol

55:50 actually hammerheads can spawn in pretty large groups. When I first saw something like this, I was surprised and amazed. Iirc I encountered these groups along the western shoreline, mainly while searching for submarine parts and nuclear waste.
I know he's a story guy but I'm sad he didn't react to the first online trailer that released aug 15th 2013 that shit was so hype bk in the day made me so excited for GTA 5.

This game will always have a sweet spot for me. At the time I sold a bunch of my 3ds games and stuff to GameStop for my preorder. This is the only game I’ve gone to a midnight release it was awesome.

I think you’d find some vague similarities to the opening lines in both the GTA VI and V trailers in the first GTA IV trailer. Thematically, it hits very different, but I’m beginning to see a pattern.
