The original realese date was winter 2014, honestly this just makes me feel bad they straight up lied with that, this is either when it became oddity, or they were actually planning or releasing something this unfinished.

Anyone who has followed any indie game development knows that is more likely that the game never comes out, if it does great, but be racional and don't expect much
Nintendo can't even do much. Half the rights for Mother is held by Itoi and he's openly stated he wants fans to make fangames as he finished the main trilogy. So if Nintendo wants to C&D, they have to go through him and he's probably not gonna let Nintendo do anything

Another project that maybe si going to make You smile is earthbound Dimensions, a remake for The earthbound 2 (ness Game), try to check it out, for now that one remains Open.

Look at the date of this leaked build. It's in the description. 2015. At the time of this demo it was still being referred to as Mother 4. The rebranding didn't happen until fairly recently.
