Learning how to play or teach the game is so complex that there’s so many ways to learn/teach the game. Developing those muscles for the forehand/backhand will require endless hours to master, so it’s best to start with simply hitting with someone or the wall and keep at it. Thanks for sharing!!

This is what I need, a true beginner lesson
I play tennis. It's better to start young because a lot of it is muscle memory when you're serving and hitting. In order to get to a decent level, you need to dedicate a lot lf time and commitment. Maintaining an athletic body, proper diets, workouts, pre and post game routine is very important. It's a relatively easy sport to learn but extremely extremely difficult if you want to get very good at it. Many people pratically dedicate their entire lives just to play tennis.

Just started teaching my wife, my 2 yo and 4 yo (both girls) playing tennis. Teaching my wife is a lot easier than my kids as they get frustrated easily. Their rackets are already in bad shape because they like throwing the rackets when they miss the ball. My kids are too shy to take lessons from a professional at the moment. It's more of a family thing, nothing serious. However I want to do a decent job. I would appreciate if you make a video that will help me (and many like me) out here with my kids.
Kids are our future and future of tennis. Its easy to find videos for adults but not for kids. Thanks!
Best of luck to you. I really bonded with my father learning to play (I was 12 when I started as I played only basketball and baseball before then). Tennis is really a life long gift.
Very understandable. With kids it's mostly 80% fun (if not 90%) and 20% (10%) seriousness. You just have to keep that mentality simply because they are not on that level yet. However, making it 'fun' for them can be just as hard and sometimes frustrating. I will plan on making a video like this one but for the kids and try my best to talk about what's the best way to go about it; maybe I'll even do it with coach Irina again, she has a ton of experience with teaching little kids.

Myron is good, seems he has the strength to control the racket. Most of beginners I saw, felt overpowered by the racket and exhausted from swinging all over the place.
I dont think he is a true beginner, bcs his swing is quite smooth. I mean maybe he got courses somewhere before this session
lol he had absolutely never played or even held a racquet in his hand. That's why we chose him, to us he was the perfect candidate for this video, it makes it more organic. He's athletic and had played many other sports, but never tennis lol

I'm self taught...so this is alien to me! I only know two basics slice backhand and flat forehand...lol
single most important First Lesson in tennis is how to grip a raquet, espcially on the serve, volleys and backhand, wih proper grips everything else will fall into place

Brave ball feeding position. I got smacked several times by beginners in that position. I learned fast to side step out of the way. The player got to start with nice equipment too. That can also be challenging to start with the right raquet. Would doing shadow swings be a good piece of honework depending on age or motivation to improve? Fun video.
Absolutely, definitely always depends, doesn't hurt to try. If the person is more hands on, the shadow swing may not help as much. That's why actually hitting and just getting the feel for the ball is sometimes more effective.

Its hard to get started and established with a lack of younger players in many areas. I have ran out of hitting partners. I am slowly making the switch to pickleball. Tennis might become a challenge like "real tennis" is to find partners! Lol.

The wall can be boring sometimes, and for someone who knows absolutely nothing about tennis can seem lonely and even discouraging. However, it is definitely a good idea to be incorporated into your first lessons.
I agree that the wall can be isolating and very boring when first starting. Great training when you understand how to keep developing your swing.
@@b.lakeberg7456 Agree 1000 percent. wall is a must to work on technique. Nadal still hits against a hitting wall to practice . The first thing I do is have a new player do is hit against a wall to develop control and work on the forehand/backhand ,flat shot,top spin etc

I’m sure she can play but you don’t step back. The guy picked it up straight away and he’s not even the coach. You never step back if you have time. First she got the hands mixed up then immediately got this wrong. If I was a beginner she’s already lost my faith in her as a coach.She also mentions never load the back leg before you hit the backhand but if he doesn’t put the weight on it how can he transfer the weight to the front leg🤷♂️

She isn't a good coach. If he were truly a beginner and this was truly his first session, she's pouring too much into his head. This is not the best way to teach a true beginner. This just illustrates that a good player doesn't necessarily make a good coach. I'm assuming she is a good player. Or was. However she isn't a good coach.
It was a lot of info, but I think it covered more for education on the process. It was a great video.
not the best way this!? is the most basic way, if you have your own ways - sure. For you to say someone is not a good coach in just 14 minutes is not even realistic. She's also pouring very basic info in his head, which is the hardest part. For someone who knows absolutely nothing about tennis, that's also challenging. If you have tips on what's the "best" way to give a lesson to a true beginner - please do educate us all. She had taught many beginners, different age group, and was very successful, and she is best believe is still a good player. ;)
Rather than criticism for criticisms sake how about some good constructive feedback. Rather than simply telling us how bad she was (in a very short video) why not share a link of how you would do it differently/better?
U don’t always have to start with basics . You can jump around . Start intermediate and go back to basics
