    Great video and a new subscription for myself! I’m sure you’re in the know but be careful flying a drone over Queensferry crossing due to the proximity with the airport! Keep the vids coming 💪🏼

    Omg i love your dedication. How about a session , River Almond at cramond, just above the boat moorings where i started my fishing about 60 years ago .

    ayyy this reminded me off when i was at granton college lol, and only fished there once or twice since i only fly fish now, but good vid nice to see a vid of areas im familiar with

    I lived round the corner from granton. Short casts win. No more than 20 yards. The fish are in the kelp and rocks at the foot of the breakwaters. Wrasse, cod, coalie, seatrout, list goes on..... use lug or fresh mackerel. Slider float works well too.

  • @scotland.is.magical528

    Eyup mate. Awesome to see you so determined and undeterred in your videos. I've been exploring a lot of the same areas as yourself over the last year and Scotland has some stunning spots to be. I highly recommend you trying around Stranraer area if you haven't before. I discovered some amazing and quiet locations with awesome fishing and wild life last year. Best of luck with your trips this year. I believe you mentioned some Scottish Isles trips this year. Might see you up there.
    Tight lines man

      Thanks very much mate, I’m hoping to spend half my summer up that direction so it’ll probably be likely 😂 I haven’t tried Stranraer before but I’ll head up soon and see what’s about.
      Tight lines mate 👌

    Glad i stumbled across this, great to see content from an Edinburgh youtuber, you now have a new subscriber.
    Fished granton breakwater numerous times over the years and apart from crabs I've blanked every time, it is my jinx venue

    • @UntouchedFishing
      @UntouchedFishing  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You'll get there in the end, ive had the same luck with granton for the most part but a lot of people say they've had fish off there so its got to be worth a shot in the summer (at least for the mackerel)! thanks for the sub mate 👍

    On the western pier you went past the best mark which is the hole in the wall. Very small whiting are a nightmare here and if you drop to a smaller hook size you'll catch plenty of them.

    • @UntouchedFishing
      @UntouchedFishing  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi mate, it’s definitely worth a shot in my opinion! I’d recommend Granton piers. The west one which I fished in this video if likely the best and I would recommend putting the effort in to get there. Species should be mackerel cod pollack dabs and flounder wrasse and coalies. Always have chance of small turbot, sea scorpion, sea trout and loads more. I wish you the best of luck 🎣🎣🎣

  • @markhodgson1251
    @markhodgson1251 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    The second fish was a dab, multiple species, i've fished around the east and west coast of Scotland quite a few times, definitely some great marks up there

      @@UntouchedFishing My excitement was as yours was, wow, great marks, but the sea is fakely empty on the east coast. West is way deeper closer-in, better for catch and cook, which is why I began sea fishing before becoming demoralised- if there's no fish big enough to eat, what exactly am I doing here?
      Theoretically I could target flatties for their wee fillets, but they all read 5+ on the radiation monitor. Dalgety Bay? Rosythe?
      So its shit. To recap. 🤣👍

    • @UntouchedFishing
      @UntouchedFishing  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Ahaha yeah I get you. You might do okay in a month or 2 for the mackerel off there. I’d say fish Eyemouth or st abbs if you don’t want to go the whole way over to the west. You’ll probably be able to get on the cod or pollack which will have some nice size fillets for you. I recon they’ll have less chance of being radioactive too 😂😂

    nice video pal, sometimes you need to let bites progress here, loads of whiting which just peck, especially with bigger hooks. Once you learn the local marks youll be surprised how many fish are here.

    • @UntouchedFishing
      @UntouchedFishing  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Cheers for the advice rik, that could have been the reason behind so many bites in this video on the breakwater. I’ll film another similar video and wack some size 4 hooks on to see if that will pick them up 👍

      @@UntouchedFishing Ive tried being fancy here few times but its just not it, also another tip dont go to the end of each venue, granton go to the curve, newhaven go 3/4, mackerel is the best bait for scratching. Tight lines pal

  • @nigelmilne3503
    @nigelmilne3503 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Move up the coast a bit, the Angus beaches are rife with flatties. Also the chance of a Bass or Sea Trout near the esturies. Can get Rays at Lunan as well.

      @@UntouchedFishing It's in these places, you think, there must be fish there, what if, and then trying something different to target a specific species... More often than not, you come away empty-handed, but sometimes, it pays off... although a lot depends on catching the tide and weather conditions just right, such is the East Coast...

    Loads of decent fishing in and around Edinburgh at times - and when things are quiet elsewhere we may as well blank closer to home 😅 Nice video bud. In all honestly at all the marks in the video I usually do better with LRF gear right close in - usually plenty of small fish May through to November.

    • @UntouchedFishing
      @UntouchedFishing  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ahahah I like the theory, I’ll definitely make another similar video at some point this summer. Sure it’ll fish very differently then so the lrf will definitely be included 👍👍

    Flatfish, living hard on the bottom, are more vulnerable to pollution than, round fish, hence they often, have various weird growths and malformations if, caught near any concentration of human industry.
