PG is the master alternate picker. I always say his pick hand is like a mini toggle switch. so tight and precise. you can barely see it moving from position to position.
Hey guys, never been so early... Awesome title man... Paul is the goat xD... I mean he is just so good... Real psyched to see this video up... Can't believe that you got to meet him irl, must have been a total dream... Hopefully magic like that will happen in my life at some point... Keep rocking you both
Hey man! Agreed Paul is the goat for sure 👌🏻 Glad you're excited about the video and we hope you enjoyed it. Man meeting him irl was a dream for sure, and it was so unexpected too, he was just outside and we ran into him, was only a brief chat because he had a train to catch, but he was up for a photo which was super cool of him. Thanks for your comment man, you keep rocking as well! 🤘🏻
I can say, a highlight of my life is having the chance to play with Paul Gilbert at one of his master classes. I am no slouch when it comes to playing guitar... he made me feel happy and humbled, all at once.
Incredible right? The fact that he can hold the whole room in awe for 10 minutes straight is the sign of a master right there! He takes the classic 3-note-per-string shapes and makes them so interesting, listen to how savage his alternate picking is! 🤯
Budokan is in Tokyo. The venue of that particular concert is the NHK hall which is in Tokyo as well. My Dad was in that concert and at the Hey Man tour leg done at the Budokan. I was in Back to Budokan. 😁
I'd love this solo so much, i do play the intro and some arpeggio sections just for my warmup.. it's kinda hard for me!🔥you know PG's pinky is taller than my middle finger😛
Paul can be the perfect guitarist for any style of bands, rock, metal, neoclassical, funky, blues, power metal, technical death metal, flamenco. He is probably the most versatile and talented guitarist I have ever seen. And that I have other favorites. But Paul and perhaps Guthrie Govan are the guitarists who have impressed me the most in my life.
Nostalgia as its best !!! Felt so good to watch that again !! Its those little things that keeps us on the edge !! I just want to pick-up my guitar right now !!! Thanks!! Flawless performance !!! It would be very cool if you could do a little review on ron bumblefoot thal !!! But i guess you must have thousands of request !! Thanks anyway ! You guy's are awesome !!!👍🤘🤘
Hey Zack! Seriously nostalgic right? It's crazy how inspiring it is to watch him play like that. Great video to revisit whenever we're feeling demotivated as guitar players. One watch and you'll feel brand new again! Thanks for your request as well, we would certainly shoot a reaction video to Bumblefoot but we both already know who he is and what he does, so it wouldn't be a genuine reaction 😕 Thanks so much for your support of the channel, it means a lot, you rock man! 🤘🏻😁
He was teaching st GIT in la at the age of 19 and then did a guitar wars solo with a couple of othet guitarists , i think mike varney was there saw paul and racer x was formed the rest is history
Mike Varney was in contact with Paul when he was 16-17 years old in Pennsylvania where he is from. Paul was so good at that time Mike was sending him demos of other guitarists that wanted to sign with Shrapnel. Paul was actually telling Mike yey or nay on these guys at that age. I saw an interview where Paul told this story.
Hello!!!
A normal guitar for him is like a 3/4 size to Paul.... and a 3/4 size is like a ukulele. I'm 170 cm tall and I met him a few years ago.... I was like a Hobbit next to him...lol
paul's racer X cadenza solo is more impressive. I've never seen another human play that 3 note per string Eminor arpeggio while standing: th-cam.com/video/xjSFvcrJ7M8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=apTWAPEsBCa-LNyQ&t=2800
I was crazy about Paul Gilbert as a teenager, I remember listening to this live solo as a kid and it blew by mind.. nowadays that doesn't impress me anymore, the only thing that impresses me about Paul Gilbert nowadays is his alternate picking technique and that will actually never change, dude is a monster.... but I think he's too repetitive, he's not very creative, everything he plays comes in blocks, it's too mathematically set up, he takes a pentatonic shape and plays the same shit all over the fretboard, or he does that with arpeggios, not to mention his tone, never really liked his tone, it's too thin and dry, it sounds like a 50 bucks solid state amp.
Paul Gilbert is best guitarist in the world. No one can play like him. His solo is really clear

yes, one of our all time favourite players and a huge inspiration for alternate picking! :)

The lick at 1:50 was the one that made me buy a guitar after years of drumming.
hahaha that's great man!
Hmm... Its the one that made me sell my guitars... ;)

He is really inspiring to see play close up and live, a different level of player!
This solo is amazing! I use a feel of his licks to practicing alternate picking and hybrid picking. So good!

hahaha that's a fair point about his pinky! thanks for watching Stacy!
8:40 pro tip: on newer drills, you can put a zip tie on the trigger to keep it from completely dumping to off and still get that rev down sound.
PG one of my all time favorite players! Cheers guys 🤘🏼😎🍻
One of our all time favourites as well, cheers Domingo! 🤘🏻

Incredible stuff
Thanks a lot bro 👊🏻 Paul has the most savage alternate picking we've ever heard.
The G.O.A.T 🎸⚡🔥🤘🏻
..holy crap...so fast and clean
And he does it with a light pick.... Crazy
I can play that really fast section that starts at 2:12 note-for-note... it just takes me several more minutes to complete it. ;-)
hahahahaha totally fair!

You need to know some techniques about guitar playing. He is not only good. He considered as the most influential guitarist in speed metal.
Paul Gilbert monster

Ps :Não me arrisco a tentar falar inglês 😅! Desculpe
Paul Gilbert was bucketheads guitar teacher.
"Who else sounds like that?"
Lightspeed staccato runs? Al Di Meola
Hey guys. alright? Since you did the teacher's reaction, you could also interview your student, Buckethead
P.Gilbert....🤟😝🍻
A real classic shredding, micheal angelo batio, no boundaries or even rob marcello insomnia !!!
A normal guitar for him is like a 3/4 size to Paul.... and a 3/4 size is like a ukulele.

It would be nice if you can react to his G3 improvisation with Petrucci and Satriani.
🤘🤘🤘👍👍👍🤘🤘🤘🇧🇷
😁🔥🤘🏻
this was his warm up btw lmao

Tell you two are PG fans lol
Paul's fashion has and still is awful but what an amazing musician
I don't know man we quite like his eccentric take on fashion hahaha! But yeah hands down one of the best rock guitarists ever! 🤘🏻
hi pete ..is Vinnie your boyfriend???
you talk way too much...you do not seem to pay attention to what you are reacting to....
