If you read the manga, you can understand Near's thinking process and his emotions beter. In the manga, Light Yagami didn't die on the stairs. Light died like a coward in the warehouse while begging Ryuk not to write his name in the death note.
Exactly. The show though absolutely phenomenal and a must watch for everyone but it portrayed Near + Mello terribly. It didn't explore their characters deeply that's why people hated them especially Near because he figured out everything in seconds without any reasoning. Manga on the other hand shows the entire thought process of these guys deducing everything to bare bones to come to a single conclusion just like L did.
Yep, plus in manga have monologue when they think in mind so reader can understand their storyline. In anime they cut many monologue, make watcher don't understand much about what light and l plan/think in storyline
@@A7xeno yes I had only this problem with show. In second half they should have given time to these characters so that they can make connections with audience just like in L case. They should not have rushed in end. It would then made death note ending more amazing and all characters would be loved
Yeah the anime writers/directors definitely made Light look better at the end. Probably the biggest change they made in the adaptation. In the manga his death is pathetic, in the anime they changed it so it's more emotional and bittersweet.

It's so funny when you start to realize our religions just save humanity from falling into the depth of depression, isn't weird we created stories and put faith into them to help us believe that the end of life still has hope to it? You realize that money is futile, love is an option for those who cannot live with loneliness! You start to become numb to reality, you start to question life. You wake up to realize, your life will be like this until you die, earn money, maybe have love? But why money? Why love? Why not power? Power feels good, until you realize all that power can't help you escape you inevitable death. Maybe you'll make friends so you don't become a lost memory. You don't want to be forgotten. What if there is a God? What if there isn't? What if your religion is a lie? Maybe this is all just a long bed time story, or maybe you should stay in your coma! Funny how this reminds me of this.
