A lot goes on inside what u refer to as 'talents'. They are special kids who can't fit into normal society. That's why a special place to groom them accordingly. Also they experience symptoms like schizophrenia and hallucinations (L's hallucinations and sensitivity to noise). Intuition doesn't come easy afterall. They are meant to carry out pursuits and decisions that alters the course of humanity.

If he abandon the evidence seeking period to charge Light and also his friendship feeling towards Light, everything would have solved since in the first few episodes. Near and Mello both improve on separate aspects of L, and, together, they create an L better than L. Together they surpass L.

Say what you will about this story arc and Near as a character but you have to admit this theme is absolutely genius. L's theme had an excellent clash between Piano and Guitar in the music, representing L and Light respectively. There were times where the guitar overpowered the piano, representing Light's dominant position in the story. Eventually the piano cuts away without warning, symbolic of L's fate in the end. In Near's theme, the clash between synthesizer and guitar representing Near and Light is still there, but the guitar never manages to overpower the synth. It tries, but the synths stay in control the entire time until the guitar abruptly cuts out , symbolic of Light's fate in the end. That's all thanks for coming to my music Ted Talk
This entire theme is composited in a way as to perfectly convey the act of thinking. It starts off as unfocused, thinking about lots of different perspectives at once, and eventually it's at 0:54 when the pieces of the puzzle slowly but surely start coming together. Love it, what a masterful theme.
Near really reminds me of my little brother. He’s 12 and he still plays with toys by himself all sprawled on the floor. The way he sits and fidgets. It’s one of the reasons why my Dad and I really like Near. He doesn’t deserve the hate
i have my small brother , in childhood he wasnt good in studies and i was , and i could solve one side of 3*3 cube and he couldnt so i laughed at him, but as he came into 10th grade , he has become better than me in study and solves 4*4 cube and i can only solve 3*3. its like he was underrated from his childhood due to some report cards but his intellectual ability is very high.

Honestly, I’d argue that Near was better than L, because L never provoked Light to the point of backing Kira into a corner, out of fear of the Task Force dying like the FBI agents did. Near was just in it for the fun challenge of catching Kira and surpassing L, so he was willing to sacrifice Mello (which was his plan, he literally told Kira “I believe I know who is behind this, he goes by the name of ‘Mello’”) much you’d sacrifice a pawn, to win the chess game. Heck, he was even willing to sacrifice himself to prove the 13 day rule as fake, and win the game.

Despite L be my favourite character from Death Note, I got to, admit Near's theme is awesome! I feel like being a detective solving a crime. Gathering all the information, investigating the crime. And, after with all puzzle pieces together, all the information and witnesses, the murder is caught. Put justice. And leaving the case victorious.
The biggest mistake a detective can make is making a deduction based off of what they want to happen versus what the data suggests and instead using the data to just prove their own theory instead of what is actually more likely. Sherlock Holmes is a good example. He uses Inductive reasoning (He develops theories based off of what he's been giving) while most people just jump to deductive reasoning (Just what they have to test theories that they have) it's hard to say which is best, but you can never gloss over the puzzle pieces.
near's theme is by far one of the best songs on the soundtrack imo... there's something so beautifully clever sounding (?) about when the sort of high pitched... guitar? (i think?) comes in at 0:30 and then the piano later joins it at 0:42 ... i dont know how to describe it but it has such a "i finally win, all the pieces are falling into place" vibe. im probably biased because this song is played during scenes when near is about to win and is super close to solving the kira case, but it sounds so witty and everytime i hear that high pitched guitar + piano riff it makes me feel suspenseful and like im just waiting for him to win lol...
I love how they characterized Near with the color white, as if he were innocent, when in actuality he’s probably the most heartless character on the show, and yes this includes Light

he's just a child who was groomed from a very young age to be the best pragmatic, calculatingc and logcial detective on earth. what did you expect? L was like him at the beginning but he had 25ep to grow so. Light on the other hand has no problem exloiting. manipulating or killing any person around him including family and loved ones if it furtheres his goals. that's heartless.
When L died, I started to get depressed. Still, I decided to watch this anime. And then Near appeared. This music seemed to say that Light has not won, that nothing is over and that L has followers. Although the plot became less interesting after the death of L, my favorite character will always remain Near
I agree. Near is like the younger brother of L. The one to bring justice, the last trap. His theme sounds similar to L’s but more revolutionary, probably indicating that both L and Near are still there to take Kira down.They both got the last laugh.

Hell the reason Light became almost immediately the top suspect to Near was because L pushed Light into the spotlight. I'm totally convinced Near and Mellos appearance was a contenciency plan of L all along. Well knowing that even in case of his death Light would not archieve victory but only the next stage of the war. And Light is smart enough to acknowledge that too, the moment near appears he feels like he is still in the chains and mechanisms put on him by L. Light never had a plan B for a world without himself in case he dies. But L did have a plan for that as seen in the series.
Cool as a cucumber, even when his base was rated. He deserves more credit in terms of what some people think of him. He was significantly younger than L.
I find Near as a very interesting character. He seems similar to L, but part of the reason he was the one able to defeat Kira is because he never took any risks. He is the calm and calculative side of L, while Mello is the more violent and risk-taking side of L. In the manga it is also hinted towards Near cheating and using Mikami's real death note to manipulate him into revealing that Light is Kira wich is the reason he commits suicide in jail. Hence why he immediately burns the death note after obtaining it. The reason he did not manipulate Light into revealing that he is Kira was because he wanted Light to confess himself.
Gerardo Martinez Mendez light had two death gods and another Kira on his side dude couldn’t have lost against L. If light didn’t have help and use the second kira to his advantage L would’ve won simple.

To be entirely honest, I feel as if Near's character can't be compared to Light's or L's characters. While Near is intelligent and he (more or less) owns up to the title of "L's successor", there are moments that don't really make sense. For instance, how did Near figure out who X-Kira was? To me, it looked like the most ridiculous ass pull in Death Note. We all know that Near knowing that Mikami worked for Kira was the main part of his plan. Without this information, Light would've won.
I get the feeling the authors of Death Note didn't care for Near. In the last episode, Near tries ordering the Japanese investigation team around, and they tell him off then chase after Light.
There is something about this theme that draws those that understand it. If you played this theme to a stranger, they'd be confused, and might like it. If you played this theme to a Death Note fan, they would instantly be immersed listening to it. If you listen to this song very closely, you can hear it is EXTREMELY detailed, as it has many layers of specific instruments specifically designed to not only be pleasant to the ear, but each instrument has a deep plot-oriented meaning (how the beeps at the beginning represent Near, the two guitar's represent Mello and Light, and the subtle piano that pops in every once in a while representing L's spirit or something like that). Just some reasons why I love this song more than the others.

i don't see why people hate Near so much other than he is very similar to L, which is kind of the point, being L's successor. And i think it was Near pressuring Kira and him turning people against Light that made Kira mess up and lose. Which kind of explains why Near is so emotionless. its a tactic.

@@Duval-In-The-Wall Lack of emotions is more accurate, not lack of personality. Near has a very distinct personality; he's far more reserved, cautious and stoic than the other characters, and this is what helps him win.

I didn't like anime before and called it trash but after watching deathnote , i thanked my friend for introducing me to anime . Currently I have watched 78 anime and i really enjoy watching it .

I don't hate Near at all. He was supposed to be like L and was trained to be like L. Mello was also trained to be like L. People are saying "Near is a L wannabe noob" or something like that. But don't forget about Mello and the fact that Near was trained to be like L. Mello and Near COMBINE is basicly L. Mello as the risk-taking side and thinking of the dangerous things while Near is the calm thinking and cautious side. Well Mello is cautious too but he is more cautious of the dangerous stuff. Those 2 characters combine is L. So if your saying Near is an L wannabe think again because he was the one who avenged L along with Mello. Plus Near is not all L, don't forget about Mello and his risk taking which is like L when L goes up to Kira and says "I am L". So overall, Near and Mello combine is L and calling one of them a L wannabe doesn't make sense because Near just himself can't be like L completely and defeat Kira.

Despite L be my favourite character from Death Note, I got to, admit Near's theme is awesome! I feel like being a detective solving a crime. Gathering all the information, investigating the crime. And, after with all puzzle pieces together, all the information and witnesses, the murder is caught. Put justice. And leaving the case victorious.

The biggest mistake a detective can make is making a deduction based off of what they want to happen versus what the data suggests and instead using the data to just prove their own theory instead of what is actually more likely.
Sherlock Holmes is a good example. He uses Inductive reasoning (He develops theories based off of what he's been giving) while most people just jump to deductive reasoning (Just what they have to test theories that they have) it's hard to say which is best, but you can never gloss over the puzzle pieces.
Whoever made all of these Deathnote themes or tuned them is a legend
near's theme is by far one of the best songs on the soundtrack imo... there's something so beautifully clever sounding (?) about when the sort of high pitched... guitar? (i think?) comes in at 0:30 and then the piano later joins it at 0:42 ... i dont know how to describe it but it has such a "i finally win, all the pieces are falling into place" vibe. im probably biased because this song is played during scenes when near is about to win and is super close to solving the kira case, but it sounds so witty and everytime i hear that high pitched guitar + piano riff it makes me feel suspenseful and like im just waiting for him to win lol...

I love how they characterized Near with the color white, as if he were innocent, when in actuality he’s probably the most heartless character on the show, and yes this includes Light

he's just a child who was groomed from a very young age to be the best pragmatic, calculatingc and logcial detective on earth. what did you expect? L was like him at the beginning but he had 25ep to grow so. Light on the other hand has no problem exloiting. manipulating or killing any person around him including family and loved ones if it furtheres his goals. that's heartless.
When L died, I started to get depressed. Still, I decided to watch this anime. And then Near appeared. This music seemed to say that Light has not won, that nothing is over and that L has followers. Although the plot became less interesting after the death of L, my favorite character will always remain Near
I agree. Near is like the younger brother of L. The one to bring justice, the last trap. His theme sounds similar to L’s but more revolutionary, probably indicating that both L and Near are still there to take Kira down.They both got the last laugh.

I'm totally convinced Near and Mellos appearance was a contenciency plan of L all along. Well knowing that even in case of his death Light would not archieve victory but only the next stage of the war.
And Light is smart enough to acknowledge that too, the moment near appears he feels like he is still in the chains and mechanisms put on him by L.
Light never had a plan B for a world without himself in case he dies.
But L did have a plan for that as seen in the series.
Just read the manga and listen to the anime OST instead, the anime's depiction of Near's arc sucked.

Cool as a cucumber, even when his base was rated. He deserves more credit in terms of what some people think of him. He was significantly younger than L.

I find Near as a very interesting character. He seems similar to L, but part of the reason he was the one able to defeat Kira is because he never took any risks. He is the calm and calculative side of L, while Mello is the more violent and risk-taking side of L. In the manga it is also hinted towards Near cheating and using Mikami's real death note to manipulate him into revealing that Light is Kira wich is the reason he commits suicide in jail. Hence why he immediately burns the death note after obtaining it. The reason he did not manipulate Light into revealing that he is Kira was because he wanted Light to confess himself.

To be entirely honest, I feel as if Near's character can't be compared to Light's or L's characters. While Near is intelligent and he (more or less) owns up to the title of "L's successor", there are moments that don't really make sense. For instance, how did Near figure out who X-Kira was? To me, it looked like the most ridiculous ass pull in Death Note. We all know that Near knowing that Mikami worked for Kira was the main part of his plan. Without this information, Light would've won.

There is something about this theme that draws those that understand it. If you played this theme to a stranger, they'd be confused, and might like it. If you played this theme to a Death Note fan, they would instantly be immersed listening to it. If you listen to this song very closely, you can hear it is EXTREMELY detailed, as it has many layers of specific instruments specifically designed to not only be pleasant to the ear, but each instrument has a deep plot-oriented meaning (how the beeps at the beginning represent Near, the two guitar's represent Mello and Light, and the subtle piano that pops in every once in a while representing L's spirit or something like that).
Just some reasons why I love this song more than the others.
