Buttons ARE Cooler, thank you! I searched for "replace zipper with button fly" and the first ten or so results were literally the opposite, or about replacing a zipper with another zipper.
@@stephtime yeah! I don't have a sewing machine, but I figure I could do each "section" of stitching during one episode of Black Mirror or something, right? I'm just getting in to this, I've repaired leather for tools before, but I was thinking about the three pairs of jeans I have held on to for a year and a half, and this is kinda exactly what I was looking for!
@@earspoon yes! you can hand sew a button hole for sure. just cut the button hole to size and use a blanket stitch to stitch the inside of the hole so it doesn't fray!
Great video 👍 , I'll be doing this with some of my old favourite jeans 👖 😊, I own several pairs of exposed button jeans already and love them ❤️ , can't wait to give this a try thanks 🙂🙂🙂
This is great!.. - searching everywhere for this.. - & Yours the best.. ! ;) Thankyou Steph. Will be doing this/ have a go!. (lol).. & very georgous too..!
Bravo, I don't like zippers, they fail too often , buttons never did. It's nice to see someone younger still knowing how to do this. Unfortunately I think a lot of people would be embarrassed for anyone to know they know how to do this because it's too old fashioned and house wifey.

Technically yes, would probably work fine :)
Technical Term: - *"Bar Tack"* .
(The crotch strengthening zig-zag stitch).
Also used to reinforce pockets. 😶
