Thunder faya you! Why person no go like sign up O.B.O? Be careful. Nice video Sha. I like how you explained everything clearly and vividly. Just avoid O.B.O and we'll be good.
Make I con carry 30bg for head forget say I be musician.... If Davido drop money I fit reconsider... But still my career go dey on pending till after Enjoyment...
Honestly, the idea of record label could just be like this, you’re a talented artiste, then you got into a record label, the contract and money seem big as newbie, then along the line, you start seeing that the contract actually leaves you with little from the supposed amount you make for the brand. I think it’s just a matter of outgrowing certain amount and the need to grow bigger arises. Just as Wizzy said in @9:54 when you get to a certain level as a Signee you should have understood the game and should be able to stand on your own. And the opening contracts should actually leave a good room to help you do that. These issues are normal. As long as we are humans, we are bound to have these issues. Conflicts and resolutions are part of human ways. This video was so wholesome. I enjoyed every bit of it. Great content man.
Totally get what you're saying about the evolving dynamics in the music industry. It's indeed a journey, and the initial contracts play a big role in shaping an artist's path. Wizzy's insight at @9:54 is spot-on - reaching a certain level should ideally come with a solid understanding of the game. Conflicts are part of the journey, and your understanding adds depth to the conversation. Glad you enjoyed the video! The best advice is for upcoming artist to stop looking at cosigns as a life changing opportunity but rather a higher platform to chase their dream and become better... But then if again the platform doesn't seem to be giving you that space for growth... Please don't hesitate to make a move... The Internet should be your greatest asset not the label..
I know very little about the way the music industry functions. However it would seem that the reason why artists start labels is to enable them make money off other artists. Thus their willingness to promote the artists signed under the label would depend on how much profit potential the feel the artists have.
While this is reality, there are other sides to it. With the way things are in the country with so much talents that may never see the light they need, passing on such opportunity can be too much of a risk for people who came from “nothing”. Kiss may have failed with GWorldWide but the upside to it was the exposure he got and the network he needed to scale into this FLYBOY. Also, while the labels can do so much for an artiste, let’s remember that their music is the commodity and if it’s that good, we’ll consume, especially with the least exposure and promotion their labels can give, but not always, yes. Peruzzi may not always be on the chat but he’s been delivering so many hits through others through his pen. Different approaches to this thing. My advice is to do the necessary checks, put in the work, pray and hope.
If it wasn't for the financial and creative control, I'd say an artist should not own a record lebel. The reason being it's too much of a distraction. Owning a lebel entails too many administrative duties. In addition to producing your music, you are also responsible for promotion, bookings, signings, as well as other artists. Creativity requires time and space.
Olamide and Don Jass have shown to be the best ground to nurture your musical talents.
For Real No Cap 🧢💯. thanks for tuning in

Olamides YBNL is very successful bro. Every year they have atleast one or two popping artists aside from olamide since 2013
Even Vusic dropped a really good music "HISTORY" before the Mohbad incident.
He didn't even get the chance to promote it. So sad
