I want to be a paediatric brain surgeon and for this reason Ben Carson is such an inspiration and I aspire to be like him one day. he is my new role model.

@Sash Akashi I stand corrected. Of course Carson is an incredible inspiration and genius, no denial there. However, in all honesty, being Trump's vessel was what distracted me from his essence. The country has just been so divisive the past 4 years, hence my tone was a political one. To clarify, I hear your points clearly.
His mother had high standards for herself and she instilled those in her sons.

Awesome Story of dedication, education, and of a single mom loving family (no welfare, no food stamps, like our next generation). This should be an example to elect our next president and not rush into electing a selfish Community Organizer, we need Ben Carsons in Washington..People with brains who know how the brain works for the good of a country and not for self gain, power and money hungry. Because he is a great man and a great story - most people today only want to read BS and about BS people, places and things. Can you imagine what the world would be like if we were to focus on people like this man? If the stories we were to promote and give praise to, our kids would learn what is really good in life. WOW!!

@@MarleyOnThaBluff funny you replied to this now. I detoured and started a PhD program on top of my MD program and will begin my 1st year of residency July 1st after which I'll apply for my specialty in anesthesiology later this year. I earned my MD-PhD so I'm Dr Dr Bruce!

Lol it’s true. He has a wonderful demeanor and speaking voice.
one thing i noticed about dr. ben carson is his natural ability to be able to speak in layman terms when talking to others who are not going to be proficient in a lot of medical terms, especially when it comes to words and terms related to the brain and brain functions. many people who specialize in a field, be it medical or otherwise, tend to use words and terms that have become a standard part of their own vocabulary but forget that the person who they are speaking with quickly becomes lost in what is being said because they have never needed to know or use those words or terms in their every day life and have probably have never even heard the words or terms before, might less know what they mean. no doubt, not only a gifted neurosurgeon, he is a gifted speaker as well and seems to have no problem speaking with people on a level which they can understand and doing it naturally and in a non condescending way.
Here a surprise, I respect Ben Carson for his medical achievements; but some of what he says is just hog wash. He so lucky that he was not born 100 years ago, as he would have not reached the heights as he did as doctor. Who is he trying to fool with his stupid talk about your environment has nothing to do with anything you can achieve, the law determined much of what a black person could do up until 1964 when segregation ended in the the USA.
One of the best neurosurgeon in our time.

Ive gone through primary education successfully,secondary education victoriously and now am studying medicine....still planning to be that great neurosurgeon in the world. I think ill be reading your books even at my death bed.
I love this guy, he is indeed gifted. He provoked my thoughts and got me to thinking about stuff. very intelligent and a very humble individual. God says I will exalt those who humbles himself, that's why he is so blessed. may our God continue to bless you.

this man reminds me of my grandfather who passed away.......while watching this video i have realized my grandfather was the most interesting man i have ever met and i assume ever will.

Just started becoming interested in Ben Carson, and although I don't agree with all of his philosophy, I respect him. He is one of the best speakers. He's centered, balanced, and reasonable. His speeches are fact filled and sound and his authenticity shines through.
One of the best neurosurgeon in our time.

I remembered seeing a book in the bookstore called GIFTED HANDS. I'm not a big reader, but couldn't take my eyes off of it. I. went back to the store the 3rd time, I had to get it. I couldn't believe it. I couldn't put that book down! It's 2022, almost 2023, and I never forget him. Look where he is now. God bless him for all he has done. I remember that story about mom at her jobs and noticed she saw Books! This video is bringing me way back!
I am deeply touched as to how Dr. Carson openly expresses his love and admiration for his country. How he sees America as having the potential to do greater things for itself and, to become a leader and a role model for others. I respect him for acknowledging a Higher Power who has control over all. For giving much thought and care about the next generation. It is true that you make a great nation by preparing the hearts and minds of the next generation who will live in it.

Glad I watched this video this evening. Looking forward to reading Dr. Carson's books. His answers to complex issues are fascinating and easy to understand. Congress is full of gangsters who profit from political divisions. There is the reason why major issues are never solved. They are allowed to grow like a tumor; and the patient is terminally ill, and death stalks.
Wow, he is amazing, I learned so much, and the interviewer was so respectful of this great man. A wonderful interview!

THAT my friend is a great question! this gentleman is such an amazing inspiration. I heard a short interview with him just the other day, in which he tell about how his mother made him and his sibling read book and write reports on them. The touching part was that she herslef was illiterate, but would underline, and check make parts as if she was proofing it. What an amazing act of love for your children. I can't wait to read his new book.
When I worked as a school nurse in a high school, I gave copies of Dr. Carson's book to some of the boys. They were usually lost and not strong readers. The children's version of Dr. Carson's book was well written and compelling. The boys were inspired by Dr. Carson's story. So was I.
I just SO love him... I mean really, I could listen to him any time he speaks...
Dr. Carson is one of the most humble, down to earth, and straightforward persons I have ever seen! He is a true inspiration for all of us and has showed me that it is ok to dream the impossible. We should look up to people like him who have a goal of helping humanity instead of celebrities. He had a vision, pursued it, and became one of the best in his field. We need more people like him!
