sorry to be offtopic but does any of you know of a way to get back into an instagram account..? I was stupid lost the account password. I love any assistance you can offer me
@Jefferson Lyle Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
I bought a discovery kids gold pan kit. So I decided to show them a vid of how it's done, this is the first vid I picked and as always you kind of think geez I hope it not some crap. But this vid was perfect to explain to my kids, showed it takes work and time, and you don't get a giant pile first try. So great job. Thank you.
atomicbear1 I have to commend you, not only on a comprehensive instruction to pan for gold, but the proper lighting of your video that made it clear to viewers on what was happening. Unfortunately a lot of other gold panning videos have poor lighting and makes it very hard to view and understand the process. Great Job. And Thank You for your video.
Hi atomic bear1... thanks for your lesson on gold panning. i went out today and panned for the first time following your instructions...about a hour or so and got 2 very small pieces... was awesome thanks again
This was a very good video! Just got a pan for my birthday present and small bag of sand that said "goldsand". Wife told that there should be 3-5 small gold nuggets in there. I easily found 5 nuggets just by looking your video.
I have a friend in Franklin, NC that has a creek in his backyard, with a natural bend and an area with sediment. We both want to pan there and see what turns up but we have no panning experience or knowledge, which is why I'm looking up these tutorials. Some of you might not know this, but Franklin, NC is the Gem Mining capital of the world, so we are eager to try :)
yes, many people use gold pan in there gold panning hobby.you are also in gold mining? we also produce small scale and big scale mining machine .our website is : www.jxscmining.com.. my hotmail is : jxscmining@hotmail.com.hope more communciation with you
It should, and usually does sink to the bottom. However, if you have oil on your hands and touch the water, the oils can stick to the small gold flakes or powder (flour gold) and make it float away! ALWAYS wash your hands with dish soap before panning - this will reduce the chances that oils on your hands will get in the water. You could also wear rubber gloves. I usually put a drop or two of JET dishwasher drying agent in the water - it will clear up any oils and make it way easier to pan!
thank you for the video, I live in Yreka ca, and there are rivers everywhere. I plan to use your technique to find enough gold over time when my family goes swimming or camping to make my wife some jewelry.
It's the Fraser River Canyon, in British Columbia... about 2 hours east of Vancouver. (Near the gold mining town of Yale). Thanks for the positive comments! :)
I found a old "shaker" in the Alaska bush once, the size of a pick-up,..near a old mining camp. I was using it for a look out post while moose hunting., I noticed it still had fine dirt compacted around the "ripples", so before I left I spooned it all up into a bucket. When I got home I panned it on a blue tarp w/hose. It was loaded with small nuggets. So I divided it up in film containers & passed them out at x-mas........the kids loved it.
@hoshnasi All pan sizes will work... the larger ones will make your hands and wrists tired sooner, as they are a bit heavier and bulkier (and hold more dirt). I've used up to a 22" pan, but I prefer the smaller ones as I can use them with one hand.
I usually add a drop or two of "Jet Dry" dishwashing rinse agent to get rid of any surface oils that make the small, thin flakes and flour gold stick to rocks... then I rinse and use my "blue bowl" for final cleanup. :) Thanks mate.
there is gold in PA that can be found in many rivers and streams. Any sports store (online) will have a set that includes 2 pans 14 and 10 inch rock classifier vials for gold a snuffer bottle ( that thing he used to collect the gold and tweezers and a book that tell you how to find an ounce a day for 30 dollars
David Hammoud No gold is not magnetic. A magnet will save you a lot of time. I use an eight pound retracting magnet. Meaning when you pull the handle the magnet is pulled away from the metal that way all the magnetic rock or other elements like iron will drop off into your discard pile. It is a common tool and is very cheap ($8) to buy one. And remember gold is NOT magnetic. Good hunting my friend!
Hi I have been trying to pan this soil i dug out from this creek bed near bishop, California it's in the Sierra Nevadas and it has a lot of tiny little granite rocks I found some gold while paning in the creek itself. any tips on how to get the gold out?
Fantastic Video man, I loved it....I am going to watch it again and again. I have always heard there is gold in every ton of dirt whether it has just a dust of gold or a gram of gold. My question is...is there gold at the banks of all U.S. rivers and creeks? I have always been told yes. Just wondering if it is true or not....I live on the river in Md. Should I try a couple shovels of dirt and try it, or would it be a waste of my time....?
That is true that you an use a magnet but in the prosess of the black sand being removed small flakes of gold can go with it even though it is not magnetic, but your NUGGETS are fine!
Hey, awesome video. I'm into gold panning, dredging, detecting and so forth. Just out of curiosity, what stream is that you're next to in this video? Just asking because that was beautiful looking, one of the things that attracts me to treasure hunting.
I ment no offence AtomicBear You did a very good job. I guess what I am saying is that panning is like playing the guitar. If one works it 4 or 5 hours a day your gonna be a whole lot better 10 years in :) There does need to be many more advanced videos so that we retain more people to the hobby. We need the numbers to counter the bunny huiggers. Look forward to catching some more of your videos.
You sure can. Depends on what beach though... If you're in Oregon, there are many beaches with natural gold nuggets, flakes, and flour gold. (Gold Beach is a good one!). If you're in California or Florida, there are many beaches where you can find gold and silver coins washed up from shipwrecks... be aware of local laws regarding metal detecting for treasure!
SOMEONE PLEASE REPLLY i have been panning for fun, and i discovered that in the last part of panning i had three things in my pan. I had a tiny bitt of gold, a little bit of magnetic black sand, and good sized chunks of a sparkling red stone, i have like 60% of the red stone, so should i just throw it away, or did i just hit the jackpot? PLEASE REPPLY ASAP
yeah you've also got the 2 legged feral semi-canine tracking snakes who follow you, watch you all day from a distance and then just before you go or on your way home they attack you and take your hard found finds, good tute though i would have liked to see at least one garrett plastic bowl being used and a demo of using neodyniums to pull away a lot of the crud
Newbie here. I gotta know, did you plant the gold in your pan or is it really possible to yeild this amount? I guess I had assumed this natural resource has been depleted
The material dug up from the claim was passed through a sluice box to concentrate all the heavy materials, including black sand (magnetite / hematite) and gold. This concentrate is what I used in the panning demonstration video. If you were to just take a pan to the river, you would likely not see much gold, if any in your pan. It took us (my wife and I) about 9 hours of digging and sluicing to produce about 5 gallons of concentrate. Those 5 gallons produced about 1.5 grams of gold. (about $75 USD with today's spot price of $1500 USD per ounce). Pays for gas and lunch for a day of fun on the river! :)
Great clip, it really helps, and coincidentally, ali was watching this to learn how to pan pay dirt u bought a while back, you say at the end of the clip your ebay handle but I was wondering do you also sell on Amazon?
Sure! That's what I use. Make sure it's a STRONG rare-earth magnet (neodymium type). Also, make sure that no small gold dust or flakes are stuck to the black sand! I usually hold the magnet UNDER the pan and swirl the water around. The black sand will pass over the magnet and stick, while the gold passes by. Good luck and HAVE FUN!
the thing is gold is where you find it its that simple but if your looking in small rivers bedrock is a good sign also bends in the river and deep pools after falls and fast flowing water
thanks my good friend! i learned a lot, the last videos i saw it tought me nothing, you were very expecific thanks ! hey, just a question, and if the gold its like powder or little flakes, it sinks it the botton aswell right? thanks you in advance

Yes there is gold in many of those rivers but the best way to know is to try! The way to tell the difference between fools gold gold does not flake mica/fools gold does not flake
+Track bro That's a tough question. Kind of like asking what's the best size golf club? or what's the best size handgun? They all do the same job, but a little bit differently. The 10" is light, and small, so it's easily packed in a backpack or hand bag, but it doesn't move a lot of dirt. The 14" processes dirt faster, but because there is more dirt in the pan, it gets heavier and harder to use than the 10" pan. So, depends on how quickly you want to process your paydirt, how strong you are, what your endurance is, and how light you want to pack. Personally, I use both sizes depending on the situation. Again, like the golf club example, there's a reason you take more than one club with you to the course, even though they're all designed to be swung to hit a golf ball - you wouldn't want to use a putter to drive, and you wouldn't want to use a 9-iron for a 250 yard shot. Hope this makes sense.
Congrats I had to watch this video for homeschool so you are educating people 👍
I watched several panning instructional videos before I panned for the first time. This video was by far the best.
I just bought the Gold Rush Pay Dirt kit and this was more helpful then their instructional vid. Thanks!
I found silver. Thank you!! So exciting. I needed this lesson
sorry to be offtopic but does any of you know of a way to get back into an instagram account..?

@Merrick Thomas Instablaster ;)
@Jefferson Lyle Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process atm.

@Jefferson Lyle it worked and I now got access to my account again. I am so happy:D
Thank you so much, you saved my account!
@Merrick Thomas no problem :D
The best demonstration I've seen so far. I just ordered a 14" pan. Thanks very much friend.

dude this is the most instructional video on TH-cam :D
I want to thank you for the video I don't know a lot about panning but that was a straightforward easy way and I greatly appreciate it.
This was a very good video! Just got a pan for my birthday present and small bag of sand that said "goldsand". Wife told that there should be 3-5 small gold nuggets in there. I easily found 5 nuggets just by looking your video.

Really a good good job

Any particular reason for different sizes of pans? I purchased a relatively large 13" pan. It should be fine for panning right?
Best good Panning I have seen on TH-cam very instructional how mush does your pay dirt cost

great video, enjoyed it from beginning to end. thanks for the upload !
thank you for the video, I live in Yreka ca, and there are rivers everywhere. I plan to use your technique to find enough gold over time when my family goes swimming or camping to make my wife some jewelry.
I truly cannot think of a more romantic and sweet gift than gold jewelry made from memories with your family. Have you had luck with the technique?
very well explained once again! thank you very much for your attention and humbleness, take care and continue the good work, cheer!
It's the Fraser River Canyon, in British Columbia... about 2 hours east of Vancouver. (Near the gold mining town of Yale). Thanks for the positive comments! :)

Nice video. Good instructions. Thanks.
Absolutely! But to get the finest gold concentrated, try a "blue bowl". I will post a video soon of how to use this equipment.
Excellent technique video..well done.
@hoshnasi All pan sizes will work... the larger ones will make your hands and wrists tired sooner, as they are a bit heavier and bulkier (and hold more dirt). I've used up to a 22" pan, but I prefer the smaller ones as I can use them with one hand.

Gorgeous cat you have there :)
For the black sand, shouldn't you just remove them with a magnet? It sounds a lot simpler.
The gold will magnet to
David Hammoud No gold is not magnetic. A magnet will save you a lot of time. I use an eight pound retracting magnet. Great video ! Never seen the shake and wave technique. Shake and wirl the water in pan. Thanks for sharing !

hey thanks i think its best video for panin do u have video about cookin gold
i was always wondering.. where would you take to gold to to sell it?.. would you have to smelt it into a troy ounce bar first?
where can i get one of those bowls and where what are good places to look for gold?
Hey atomicbear, you can also remove the black (iron) sand with a magnet as gold isn't attracted to magnets. Great vid, thanks!
Just saw your reply to a similar Q below. Cheers!
Would that work? Because if it did, that would be really useful
Average Commenter Yes to the iron that is mixed with the gold, no to the gold itself
Steve A okay, thanks!
That is true that you an use a magnet but in the prosess of the black sand being removed small flakes of gold can go with it even though it is not magnetic, but your NUGGETS are fine!

Thank you. i will try that with that old bag of sand bought in Vancouver (or some some other place in Canada) that my grand mother gave me.
are there any specific rivers or do all rivers have the potential for gold?
Can you do this in small streams about 5 miles south of the Adirondacks mountains in upstate new york?
Where abouts are you located? Looks like you were on the fraser river by hope?
That's pretty neat. How much do you suppose that pan was worth? Also, how do you know what sort of spots to look for in a river?
i have a question: can i do this is in the netherlands too? where there are no mountains
only flat dirt/sand. nice video btw! it made me curious!
Very informative, cheers mate.

I have always wanted to go gold panning. It we don't ha e anywhere to do it in the uk
should I get garrett gold pans or gold pans like this?

How much money would those pieces of gold be worth? Great video!! Thumbs up
I would like to know whee are you panning in, Canada or USA?
@jamey50727 : No, gold nuggets are very heavy for their relative size, and immediately sink to the bottom... those were just small pebbles.
Did you put those gold pieces there before making this video?
@atomicbear1 how much for a bag in the video? what region does it come from?
Is there anything I should look for in a stream with gold?
Thank you. Your very helpful.
Also where would you sell the gold?
Where did you get the pan? I'm interested in trying to get some gold myself.
Try just some good old fashion 49ers style online shopping
Casey Henderson Hardware stores usually have them
how often do you get gold when you sift for it like this ? every bowl ? every other bowl ? rarly ?
would you know what stores sell gold pans I liver near Calgary Alberta and want to pan the bow river.
What brand of pay dirt are you using?
what are those ridges in the pan?
In Australia the r no bear so no bear spray for us
Hamrogers1 but you have a million other things that can kill you
yep welcome to austraya everything wants to kill you
hamish rogers but you have a million other thing that can kill you

deaderthendead041 I don't currently, but I'm considering it. Thanks for the kind words! Glad it helped!
+atomicbear1 do you still sell paydirt and kits
Sure! That's what I use. Make sure it's a STRONG rare-earth magnet (neodymium type). Also, make sure that no small gold dust or flakes are stuck to the black sand! Do you know any good gold panning areas on vancouver island
so cool and educational!
Thank you man, great video tutorial! ;)
Does it work with every sand ?
the thing is gold is where you find it its that simple but if your looking in small rivers bedrock is a good sign also bends in the river and deep pools after falls and fast flowing water
Awesome video man. Do you know if you can find gold in Louisiana? I'm in new Orleans, thanks
What would be the best size to use after you are done sluicing?
+Track bro See my answer to your other question above.
great video!!
Thanks for the info!
thanks my good friend! i learned a lot, the last videos i saw it tought me nothing, you were very expecific thanks !
hey, just a question, and if the gold its like powder or little flakes, it sinks it the botton aswell right? thanks you in advance
hi atomicbear1 do you pan again the residual material ?
is their gold up North Like Massachussets because i have many lake, Ponds , rivers, and brooks where i live and how do u tell the difference from Fools Gold and Regular Gold?
Yes there is gold in many of those rivers but the best way to know is to try! The way to tell the difference between fools gold gold does not flake mica/fools gold does not flake
now, once you find this gold, can you sell it? how does that work?
Would you be able to tell me what size gold pan would be good? 10" or 14"
+Track bro That's a tough question.
+atomicbear1 thank you for all that information, I think I'm going to get a 12"...... I'm trying to see if there is any gold in New York
is gold found in all types of rivers in different countrries?
Maybe. Depends the type of river with the type of soil.
Sure... there's LOTS of good Cali creeks to pan in... where are you located? I could help steer you in the right direction near your residence...
