I told her one more lap and she could have had it. She said no way, I gave it everything I had and after that last lap I had nothing left. Thinking back, just the energy it takes to pick up your bike on a hill and kick it 20 times can be exhausting. Then putting in 4 laps of charging….I don’t blame her for being exhausted.
I was heart broken for Lillian. You left it all on the track. I was on the edge of my seat watching you on my phone. What a race. You have got to be proud of yourself. I was crying after the race to so don't feel bad. What we saw here is something you can't teach. It's called determination. It's the heart and will of a person to leave it on the track. All of the greats have had days like this. Many average riders would have either quit or just ridden it home. The way you overcame adversity to make the absolute best possible outcome that you could shows the heart of a true champion. It is often said in the world of supercross and motocross that championships are won on your bad days. You exemplified that on this day. Been there... motocross is a sport where sh*t happens. That was a fantastic ride, probably her best ever I've gone down a on the first lap and fought back against all odds but missed the transfer spot by one position. I was upset and very disappointed; I felt like if I pushed a little harder I could've gotten him. I blamed myself and Im certain Lillian feels the same. I had to step back and then I realized how good I did and the work I put in paid off. Like I said sh*t happens and we're not always perfect... We're not defined by our mistakes, but we are by how we respond. Lillian showed the spirit of a warrior and the never say die mentality. That was an outstanding ride no matter what the paper says.
That’s true. On paper a 4-5 looks like a pretty chill day. But it doesn’t show the ups and downs along the way. Lillian’s not usually the one to push beyond her comfort level. But this race was totally different.
I ve watched motocross for nearly 50 years and i cant remember when i watched such a brilliant heart driven ride as that. Straight up world class ride. most kids would have given up but to try as hard as to jump the triples for the first time, man I was heartbroken for her.
Reminds me of James steward the crash master himself. He could crash get up and win the race. I have been watching for a long time and your improvement is remarkable.keep up the great riding.

WOW!!! Lillian, that was the best ride I have ever seen you ride, not even close! I'm an old slow guy and have ridden Washougal a lot and you were flying on that Supermini! Had those bars dancing all over. I'm so glad you survived that triple attempt. I've never done the triple, wanted to but never pulled the trigger, so proud of you for trying in the moment. The day before you and pops talked about not laying out unless you need to and today you laid it ALL out there, wow! Awesome race, big heart, hard loss but hopefully you found another gear today and can save it for when you need it and ride just on the edge when you have a gap. BEST of luck at Hangtown, I really like riding Hangtown. Soft and fluffy first thing in the morning but get really dry hard pack and rough by mid day. Squeeze with those legs and let those bars dance like you did today.

Ya she is that for sure. It was really cool to see her " suck it up " and just go for the triple. Now hopefully she gains confidence on what she did? She even says " she knows that she needed more speed " now Lil needs to build off that. But she rode with so much heart, a guy could actually see it at the end in the pits. Little message to Lillian, don't give up on yourself, build off what you actually accomplished from such a bad mishap on that hill, you did things you normally wouldn't do. Stay strong and determined to your goals. And keep believing in yourself and your riding skills. From a Canadian fan.
Once you teased the triple at the start of the vid I was so ready to see it, every time she came around that corner I would smile being ready for her to hit it and she didn’t, then all the sudden she hit it. They need to hang that transponder on a wall for the amount of effort Lil put into that race.
She said she thought about hitting it the first time around. But there was no practice and no site lap so that could have been risky. Great idea for the transponder lol

Ya she is that for sure. It was really cool to see her " suck it up " and just go for the triple. Now hopefully she gains confidence on what she did? She even says " she knows that she needed more speed " now Lil needs to build off that. But she rode with so much heart, a guy could actually see it at the end in the pits. Little message to Lillian, don't give up on yourself, build off what you actually accomplished from such a bad mishap on that hill, you did things you normally wouldn't do. Once you teased the triple at the start of the vid I was so ready to see it, every time she came around that corner I would smile being ready for her to hit it and she didn’t, then all the sudden she hit it. They need to hang that transponder on a wall for the amount of effort Lil put into that race.
She said she thought about hitting it the first time around. But there was no practice and no site lap so that could have been risky. Great idea for the transponder lol
Holy cows Lilian what a moto track rougher than hell you went for the triple damn! charge hard all through the moto I know you didn’t qualify at Washougal what a heart breaker you rode with all your heart and had a great come back in difficult conditions you should be proud great ride .
