Not only does the bridal veil show the modesty and purity of the bride and her reverence for God, it reminds us of the temple veil that was torn in two when Christ died on the cross.Removing the veil took away the separation between God and man, giving believers access into the very presence of God.
Oh man I thought the veil would be alot more simple and less horrific lololol thank you for your comment I was wondering if the veil had religious meaning as well.
Thank you for answering my questions! Your so sweet and calming I really felt better about it all when you mentioned that when you put the veil on your family and everyone around you cries and it really is a beautiful moment! I have one question is a wedding veil most related to a religious symbol?
Thanks so much, Megan! I have never been told I have a calming voice before hahaha 😝 I think the veil does have religious connotations but it doesn’t have to be used that way. A majority of brides probably don’t see it as having religious overtones. It just is a little bit of the history and how it can have religious overtones especially for Christians and the Jewish faith.
The bridal veil originated in Jewish culture thousands of years ago symbolizing the veil of sinful self within the soul that separates us from God that is removed when we become married to Christ within through faith~ this veil is removed when we are born-again and our inward eyes behold our husband *"Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you may be married to another-even to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God.".....Romans chapter 7:4*
Very interesting video with some really interesting history concerning veils and great tips on how to pick the right one. So funny how veils used to be used to hide the bride from the groom until the wedding night in case she was ugly!
The veil is quite cultural, a few centuries ago women wore veils all the time. Some christians still wear veils to church, I wear it to go to mass an to pray, it's also biblical.
Unveiled bride, being you are not veiled from Christ and the church. A very covering veil being ,you are veiled from Christ and the church. ???Christian marriage as described in Eph. 5 representing Christ and the church.

Oh my goodness, that is a such a good addition! He did tear the veil down between us so we could directly access him!
A brilliant explanation xx
I've always heard that the veil was intended to hide the bride from evil spirits.
Ok, this is soooo helpful and I loved learning the history of wedding veils. I wouldn’t mind be buried in my veil that you made for me too!
Very helpful! I learned so much about the history of veils!
This answered so many questions that I have had about bridal veils and was quite fascinating. Very good advice in this video and helpful!

I totally agree! I believe there are Bible verses about covering the hair too. Well said.
Fun fact: Brides of royal blood don't wear blusher veils; their people have the right to see their faces.
