      Left handed lay ups where the death of me all of Jr high, summer before freshman year i did 90% of all my workout drills left handed and its been money ever since. But that fear of missing such an easy shot and getting subbed is the worst

    Seattle-Tacoma area is a major basketball hub. The hoop scene is bumping, down to the parks. I used to visit friends there, and just show up to whatever random park we were near. It was always going off. It's crazy they lost the Sonics in one of the planet's best basketball markets.

    I had this same problem through middle school, I was by far the teams leading stealer and defensive player. Where my team and the crowd would have to scream slow down and I would literally sprint and hop jump to a tiny jump shot. It worked.

    It’s so cool that Matisse knows who George Mikan is. Mikan was slow, couldn’t jump but had great footwork and was strong as a bull. He’d do great in today’s game (think Jokic or Deandre Ayton). Clearly Thybulle loves basketball, and so do I. Now I’ll be watching for him in 21-22!

    I had the same issue when I played ball, of course no where near his level. But I do understand where he came from when he said he couldn’t control his speed and finesse, being a smaller but fast guard myself. I could shoot fine and everything else but I would miss layups, especially the wide open ones and it ultimately became a mental hurdle over everything else. I make my layups now but I did mirror that fear he had at some point. I think it had everything to do with height and overcompensating momentum and strength when laying up.

      Happened to me all the time. Still does from time to time. You just get that crazy adrenaline rush when you’re running full speed after a stop and you just want to jump through the roof of the gym. Half the time I couldn’t even focus on the layup I was worried about the guy behind me catching up and just trying to jump as high as possible

    I did the same thing. 😂 But I Cld shoot so I Wld pull up from 3 or midrange instead of laying up. It was a higher percentage shot
