2. If everyone turns meat eater, who will advance the higher ideals of No Meat eating ? No Gambling, No Alcohl, Monogamy - these are the ideals of the Brahmin Varna.
So, we need to protect these Varnas so that other varnas will slowly emancipate themselves to these higher ideals.

When the ruling-class families are dominant in the world, the bodhisattva is born into a ruling-class family. Thus, monks, at this time the ruling-class families were dominant in the world, so bodhisattvas were born into such families.
