Nope! But you want to keep the relationship between how far you bend and the speed at which you bend to be good. For example, you don’t want a super fast vibrato that’s shallow because it will sound like a bee buzzing. And if you do a slow vibrato super wide it’ll sound really wonky.
That can be tough at first. I like to think of it like turning a door know with that hand. You’re twisting and getting your whole forearm into it. It takes work to get good at it

Lots of fun and very helpful. Thanks, Brad!
Thank you!
Great lesson
Thank you!
when your at the faster tempos are you picking the string each time you bend to the note ?
No because the sustain of each note is better when you're moving the string faster.
Hey Brad! Quick question: Is it necessary to bend the note by a semitone every time we use vibrato?
Nope! But you want to keep the relationship between how far you bend and the speed at which you bend to be good. For example, you don’t want a super fast vibrato that’s shallow because it will sound like a bee buzzing. And if you do a slow vibrato super wide it’ll sound really wonky.

I find it hard not to rely on finger movement rather than whole hand, though.
