  • I go to my favourite Indonesian restaurant and react to Indonesian food :) Is it better than Korean food?
    Korea doesn't only have good Korean food. It has incredible food from all around the world! And Indonesian food is one of those!
    This is Busan's BEST Indonesian restaurant where you can experience incredible flavours!
    This restaurant won an ASEAN award for it's contribution to Indonesian food in South Korea!

    We usually eat rendang with white rice. It balance the flavour, since rendang must be a bit salty. when I was a kid, I could just finish a plate of whice rice and rendang sauce only. it made me happy. How delicious is the rendang sauce.

    the green chilly pepper on the side is actually a nice pair for the chicken that seems to be dry.
    the pickles is usually paired with nasi goreng to minimalize the grease. it acts as a palate cleanser as well.

    Yes Indonesian fried chicken (ayam goreng) is typically dry inside because in Indonesia they usually eat it with sambal dipping sauce, it will add more flavor to the chicken and it usually marinated with a lot of herbs and spices.

    • @kind0fkorean
      @kind0fkorean  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yep, I found that out through trial and error 😅 First time eating ayam goreng I ate it without Sambal and it was still good, but I wondered why it was so dry. Then eventually, once I mixed it with Sambal (and even Rendang sauce hehe) it was next level delicious!

    Fyi, most of rendang outside indonesia actually is not rendang, it's called kalio. The difference between kalio and rendang is the color and the texture. The one nick eat is kalio, you can see its bright red-orange and its not tender. The real rendang is more darker because the spice is caramelized after hours of cooked and if you pinch the meat it fell apart you can eat it effortlessly. Kinda tricky to get the real rendang even in Indonesia, because it takes long time to cook it. so people mostly end up having kalio and called it rendang🥲 idk if korea has the authentic rendang or not.

      @@kind0fkorean you can say.... Sambal is not sauce that can taste different depending on the ingredient and the holy hands of the chef.... And chili sauce is pretty much branded stuff that taste all the same. And ABC chilli sauce actually has a nice kick. Nasi goreng is nicer with sambal or chilli flakes that actually blends with the taste where chilli sauce has its own taste.... And nasi goreng usually cooked using sambal....

    honestly, as what I've seen and your explain about the rendang, it wasn't the best yet even couldn't get into the regular one as common in Indonesia. the good one came up with a lot of thick gravy on the round of the meat with extremely tender texture, the taste is savory but has a little sweet comes naturally from juicy coconut milk that cooked normally about 7 hours (but for sure idk the taste of rendang that you eat lol) and the oil is the same as usuall must be red from the chili paste. I suggest you to find rendang in other restaurant, hopefully you will get the similiar one. btw, it is good also but under the regular one thought. i've subs. have a success vlogging,, terima kasih 🙏🏼

    • @kind0fkorean
      @kind0fkorean  2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Right, the owner said it was marinated for most of the day! There wasn't as much of a gravy, but really delicious oils and sauce were surrounding rendang, such a delicious aftertaste. Yes, the coconut milk! I didn't quite catch it as I was eating 😅
      I definitely can't wait to try more indonesian food around Korea (I know of at least 2 more restaurants in Busan!)
      Thanks for watching mate!

    it's really cute, the combination you have...a little forward for Indonesian ^^.... usually rendang is paired with white rice as @IndraGunawan mentioned, then the chicken is paired with white rice or sometimes with nasi uduk (steamed rice cooked in coconut milk) served with cucumber and the cabbage, then the pickled cucumber is the condiment for the fried rice.. try the combination, it's very close to how we have it here ^^v..

    It's very regrettable to know that it takes you a long time to chew rendang, from the start I was suspicious of the appearance of the color and texture of the meat, because unlike rendang in Indonesia.
    Actually real rendang is that if you chew for the first bite, the meat will melts instantly, because the original rendang is cooked for 6-8 hours, or even more. that is one of the reasons why rendang has been named the number 1 most delicious food in the world (according to CNN).
    I hope you can try Indonesian food which is much tastier n better than the one you've ever tried, thanks for the first impression of Indonesian food, have a nice day.

    TBH about rendang, the tenderness will depend on how long it cook..
    but usually in indonesia, we cook rendang in really really big portion so we can eat it like for 2 weeks, and because of that we re-heat the rendang again and again, and it will become more and more tender as it goes thru multiple re- heat process..
    there is a version while rendang serve like pulled pork not chunk meat anymore..

      @@kind0fkorean we usually don't order fried rice if we want to eat something that we eat with white rice. Lot of Indonesia foods we eat only with white rice, not with fried rice. If we eat fried rice we'll order appetizer or desserts. And rendang is main course...
