This is the regular HDX.. the custom build one is if you want the temperature to be in Celsius instead or Fahrenheit and the Speedometer to be in Km/h instead of MPH.
Yeah, you have to cut a few of the wires out of the original wiring harness and run them to the control box. If you have a wiring diagram of your car it's actually not that hard to hook up.

The one you looked at must have been the VHX model. The VHX dash does not change color. They come the color you order them in. My dash is the HDX model which is newer and has several additional features that the VHX dash does not.
Hi I'm doing a ls swap and I have the vhx with the od2 module. My question is did you cut the wire or tap into the wires. I spliced into the steering column harness for turn signal but now no back lights lights on vhx say on like it's a crossed wire.
Car looks clean. Question did you have to get a separate box or brain from Dikota digital for the gear indication or did your steering colum provide those wires

I have a 63 belair and I was wondering how you got yours to squat on them 22’s? I’m having problems with clearance with my set.
If you're having clearance issues it has to be an issue with the offset of the wheels. I would suggest trying wheels with a different offset.

Before your dash was painted did it have a dash pad?
The dash was already painted when I got the car. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe some of them came with the dash like this and not with a dash pad.
