    A couple of audiophiles did a comparison (not particularly Elvis fans) between the 81 Mofi and the one step. Both chose the 81 pressing as superior.

      Yes my friend👌 i watched this YT Video you mentioned; and as i said before; MoFi used a digitally source; you can't compare a 1969 ANALOGUE Technologie with a DIGITAL Source / Technologie 2023 pressed on Vinyl...

    I agree with Ed’s assessment of the one step vs original. I have both. The one step does sound fantastic on the tracks I am able to play. Unfortunately my copy of LP 1 is also off center with whoosh noise and some pops. I am returning it for refund and considering the SACD instead. Although, when I want to hear this classic - I will most likely reach for the old Indianapolis pressing.

    What more can you say ? 🤔🤨🙂 Interesting review. One of my favorite EP albums . I enjoy the original pressing the most. The first MFSL issue is a second, and I still have yet to hear the 2nd Mofi issue, but doubt it will surpass the earlier ones, especially due to the rumours that Mofi used digital transfers, but that has not been confirmed. Peace and Rock On.

    There is a real good comparsion on TH-cam between the 1981 Analogue "Master Recording" Vinyl and the new MoFi! Ed, please take your time and watch it😉

    I dig the one step too. One steps have a presence other pressings do not. Thx for your thoughts.

    Good job Ed, I bought the MOFI cd but haven’t opened it , my go to on these tracks has always been The Memphis Record LP, I’m wondering how it compares to the MOFI?

    Hello Ed. I have been watching your videos about the Elvis MOFI One step. Thank you for sharing those. Just listened to mine and agreed, the sound is fantastic but the pressing issues are annoying. Off center labels or even some warping don’t bother me. My Rush’s 2112 reissue is warped, it’s like a rollercoaster for the stylus/tone arm but plays flawlessly, dead quite. Mild and sporadic surface noise is alright but I hate loud pops. My Elvis MOFI has 3 loud pops, way too many for this price. I don’t want to deal with the return and get something worse. It’s such bullsh#t, already overpriced and to find out the pressing quality is subpar… This is my first and last MOFI step purchase for sure. Not worth $ 125 plus.

    I have always thought that the original pressings were lacking in bass, the warmth just wasn't there in the two I have (both 1969 Aus pressings). The Music on Vinyl version I have really added the needed bass and is def louder (higher dynamic range). Knowing how much better the Mofi version is, which version will you play when you want to listen to it now? I think I'd be torn between the better sound and the convenience of one record vs two. And add the MOV version in your collection, that could be even harder to decide??? Appreciate you Ed!

    I still wonder: How could that be? They just remaster. They don't remix. They are using Digital Transfers from the mastertapes, not analogue material... I just don't get it.

    • @TERRYMism
      @TERRYMism ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I have to agree with you Thomas. I also wonder how many times they reuse the Stamper for each release. If the number is less than 500 it should be a great release. If it goes beyond that, the playing surface starts to degenerate and a new Stamper should be used, if making quality vinyl records. I am sticking with my 1969 vinyl version and the FTD American Sound 1969 five CD set with its fantastic booklet. I do feel for Ed though, having to go through so many copies to get a good one. Stay safe and go well.

    I don't think the difference will be big.

    • @TheKingsCourt1972
      @TheKingsCourt1972  ปีที่แล้ว

      I did, but accidentally doxed myself in the video and took it down 🤦‍♂️. The third set had one LP that was good and the other was almost there but had a slight warp.
      I gave up as I just took the best 2 LP’s of the 6 I now have…🤷‍♂️. Take care my friend.
