  • If companies are going to charge more for repaints (which they probably shouldn’t because it’s just a way for them to squeeze more out of old tooling), they better justify that decision by packing in more accessories and actually doing an immaculate job on repainting an old release.
    In the case of this Red Hood repaint, McFarlane Toys went the other way by removing some components that are absolutely crucial to the character and rendering the bare minimum in the paint department -- whilst charging more for it.
    There is nothing really special about this being a Gold Label limited run and I don't think it's fair to compare its sticker price to the astronomical aftermarket prices on that original Red Hood release.
    Being a wise collector means to be able to measure the value of an item under the basis that it's selling for what it should be retailing for, especially in this tough economy.
