Great video. When you do a design for out of state clients do you take into account local land permits, whether the things you design are allowed to be done in a particular state/locality. It would be nice if you could do video going into more detail about site lines, maybe showing site lines from inside a house before the transformation begins. Hope my questions makes sense. Thanks for the videos
Such a great video! I believe in what you are saying in all 3 of these mistakes! Also, I think a head count of how many ppl are likely going to use which spaces during entertaining times is good to keep in mind. I have gone back to extend the patio in my design by 2' to accommodate more seating after thinking about how many ppl i would actually have over for entertaining. Just that small change allows the space to work and be so much more usable and comfortable in max capacity situations.
Great comment Tricia.... thanks for providing using real life experience to our community! I know all the people watching will appreciate your comment as I do. Have the best day!
@@BackyardDesignGuy Thank YOU for emphasizing how important it is to think about how we use our outdoor spaces. The thought to change my design probably would have never occurred to me without absorbing the info. in all of your videos. Truly, thank you for providing such great inpiration, information, and support to help us acheive our best outdoor living life! Lol have a blessed day!
I would love to help u with your space! Yes, I am very passionate because I truly believe that everyone needs their own slice of Paradise right outside their door! I wish I could help everyone create their dream backyard.
What will “draw me outside “? Simple. “Expand” the inside. More square footage, A/C big windows (with black out drapes of course to keep out that dreadfully bright sun and awful humidity…..lol…..and may as well cover the pool too…..ha ha…
I'm struggling with flow. My backyard door and porch is on the side of my house..trying to find a solution for the side that will flow and pull to the back

Biggest mistake for small backyards, is burning stuff every night so your neighbors have to smell polluted air every night. Just because you like it does t mean all your neighbors do…

These designs are all too expensive for the average person. You could save a lot of money by some more thoughtful plantings. It’s missing the reason people go outside……. Nature
I have watched many of these videos and they’re redundant. It’s all the same shit. Plus it’s over the top. The function is the most important thing. Not one hammock. How about a small pool. And why not some hydroponics? Also a whole kitchen outside is too much. And I think most outdoor roof extension should just come off the old roof and instead of all that prepping the damn dirt rocks and saying all that shit just makes them forms out of two by fours and pour some concrete then put tiles on top. All of this looks like the same shirt and it’s way over the top more function less flash. Plus I don’t think most people can afford this shit. I mean look man concrete some wide wallboard some solar lighting small pool barbecue pit and a roof man something covered a hammock.Just my opinion.🥳
I appreciate your opinion and...to each their own. I totally disagree (although I agree that my content is becoming redundant), I feel like you need to get out and enjoy the outdoor "living" space. If u feel like u can truly enjoy it with some concrete and slapping some things together then go for it. For me each outdoor space should be thought through and planned to entertain and host family and friends. I feel like thought (not only money) should be applied to each outdoor space. Only my opinion. Have a great Sunday
It's such an amazing video!
