Great video but you may confuse the general public with the concept explained at minute 3:39. My take is that double interlock is what it is... no water in the system until 2 interlocks are engaged.

If an air leak and compressor failure occure, and air pressure is lost on the top of the valve, will the valve open and charge the header?

I made a mistake just this past week in testing a sprinkler system. I activated the main reaser module and the pump starting running. I've no idea in how to turn it off. Is the reason I'm watching all of this sprinkler videos. Thank you.

In order for a fire pump to start it has to sense a loss of pressure that the jockey pump is incapable of keeping up with that loss. If your static pressure is 100 psi. The jockey pump will be set to come on at around 90psi and the fire pump will be set to come on at 80-85 psi. Jockey pumps are maintenance pumps to keep the fire pump from coming on. So you must have caused a rapid loss of pressure in order to activate the fire pump. If you were filling a system back up good practice is to shut the fire pump off and fill with the jockey pump til it’s up to system pressure then turn the fire pump back on. And also good practice is to turn off your horns and strobes to fill the system. If for some reason your fire pump is wired for alarm instead of a supervisory then you need to get an alarm guy out there and have them fix that cause it should be wired for pump running supervisory not alarm.

Go to the pump control and switch to off

If the heat/smoke opens the valve and allows water to flood the system, then it is single interlock.

Yes that’s correct. The air pressure in the field pipe is to monitor for any leaks. If you get a low air supervisory only the system will not trip, unless it’s coupled with a smoke/heat head to energize solenoid and dump the priming water. This is for coverage of areas you don’t want getting wet or having false trips at all costs. Once the air leak is detected the pipe can be repaired and you don’t damage any of the equipment that is being covered. If the system dumps on only one of these inputs alone it pretty much is defeating the purpose of the PreAc.

Where I work has a similar system but something is diff cuz the gauges above always show 0 psi despite having a connection to a lil compressor. My question is what the he'll is keeping back the 150 psi water pressure that is below the valve in the system at my job? There is signage stating for action and wet system below a big valve that says Reliable Model EX Deluge valve

Meant to say it states pre action

If a sprinkler head is damaged (no fire) and the air is let out, what stops the water from coming out the damaged head? There is no air holding the valve closed anymore. Can you explain that?

I think this one shows more specifically how that works th-cam.com/video/VHIBGPf0U9U/w-d-xo.html

      In double interlock.
If sprinkler brust water will not get into the piping network..
Actually it requires electric detection signal to open the solenoid valve.
Than only the preaction valve will open..
      Hope i am right.
If i am wrong, please advise the correct operation.

You are confusing a single interlock and a double interlock preaction system. The "specialized dry valve" is a deluge valve. You're putting out bad info...

Agreed. There is a pneumatic actuator on the priming line and he didn’t even mention it.
