I think it is much safer to go on than the metal one
They dont slide all over the floor + you can lift all 4 wheels

Yeooo. This is what I've been looking for! Thank you. My only curiosity was to lift both sides simultaneously. So you drive on and you either have two jacks and if you put the props on both sides you have a central pole/box section.. one slides into the other.. and you can pump both jack's at the same time. Saving any chassis bending. But ultimately I'd love a 4 corner set up.

Fantastic idea and just in time for the occasion: I need to change a timing chain and in order to do that, I have to raise the car so I can remove the oil pan. Using solid wood is MUCH safer than using flimsy metal ones. Thanks a heap for the idea!!

I love your design - great job. I will build a similar design for a larger 3/4 ton truck, and a muscle car with 12" wide tires. The steel channel is extremely strong. I would weld a reinforcing plate underneath the channels for additional support, and it will never buckle. I will use for each ramp: 2 of the 6" wide channels butted together for 12" wide tires. I will weld these together. I will weld the channels to a 3/8" or 1/2" plate, and then screw the plate to wood blocks with #10 pan head screws. I would do the same as the angle irons but make it for a 22" diameter truck tire. It looks like the truck could be jacked up a little higher for a few more inches of clearance, with a 3 ton low profile jack that I have. I don't think I'd attempt to build this w/o welding these pieces together, as done in the video. For the long channel used as the runner, I'd use 2 x 4" wide channels welded together, and cut it at an angle at the bottom, and make them a bit longer, so I could drive all 4 wheels up at once. For a truck don't really need this since it's easy to jack it up on the diff, as done on the video, but with my little Mazda car it's a pain to jack it up when it's on the ground.
For now I am simply making stepped blocks and driving all 4 wheels of my vehicles up these slowly, adding blocks as I go. Need many blocks for this, 8x8" or 10x10". I searched for ramps online and found much junk. Racing ramps are very $$$$ and don't go very high. 6 ton jack stands are very expensive, for good quality ones that have proper certification with decent welding.

it looks to me like he welded a steel plate (maybe 3/8" thick) to the channel. Then the plate could be easily screwed to the wood with pan head screws, say #10.
