@Rinze this is one of my favorite animes of all time and I've seen hundreds if not thousands of them, we wont get a season 2 because people hated the ending so much the creator used the Manga which started when episode 10 aired to retcon the ending after he saw peoples reactions to it so in the Manga it ends with the kalaxasaur princess as the final enemy and after they defeat her she leaves the earth to humanity and the kids all survive along with nana and hachi and thats the Manga ending the fun part now is we have our bittersweet reincarnation ending as well as our classic happy ending but ultimately because of the retcon V.I.R.M. dosent exist meaning there isnt another enemy for them to face and regardless of what people say V.I.R.M. actually wasn't destroyed in the anime they said when hiro and zero two detonated the nuke theyd be back for a final battle against humanity but since people didn't like V.I.R.M. (even though it was made by studio trigger which spoiler alert all there animes end with aliens and also the creator worked on E.V.A meaning even more aliens lol) and the Manga retconned their existence there really isn't anywhere for it to go now unless they used the same universe but different characters and a different time period perhaps when humanity has rebuilt so in the future or maybe the past and we could get a prequel detailing the entire immortality and mankind's downfall and destruction of the planet instead of one measly episode.
They could honestly make a second season that's just a romcom mixed with a slice of life story and it would do well. That's honestly the most logical path if using the same characters

I remember this music and they put it in the ring of the sea when they discovered a place where humans lived before their extinction, and they put it on the case of Zero Two and Hero when they went to the Garden and reminded them of the sad past, I love Zero Two and Hero and I love the anime Darling in the Franxx 😔🌹🥀
this show had everything going for them. the music amplified to tone of the story, the character development was solid for the most part, character designs on point, animation was great for fights. and then post episode 15 happened
In wish that 02 and Hiro would be in an emergency ship that would only be damaged by the explosion. Both hiro and 02 are badly insured but alive and a lone Klaxogour spaceship finds them. It has been sent out in the past by the Klaxogour civilasation during the war against VIRM. There is only one passenger claxogour-sapiens left who treats 02 but struggles to help hiro because he is still a human and weaker, partially at least. They set sail in space to return to earth and try to save hiro in the meantime. They fight in space together and the more the show progresses the more crazy the claxo-sapiens gets. He was so alone after all and isn't used to other people since his crewmates died a long time before that. Hiro comes back and together they return back to earth but then the claxo-sapiens betrays them and tries to kill them. The claxogo-sapiens gets defeated and they return to earth. During the story a few fillers about the claxo-sapiens past and some about the life of 02 and the crew when they were on earth. Some more fun episodes about the life of Crew then. On earth 02 and hiro get married and live with their crew until the end and thats a happy end The scene with new child hiro and 02 under that cherryblossom tree is in fact just one of their children
I rewatched a lot of animes and reread a lot of manhwas, mangas.. But i could never bring myself to rewatch DITF.. its just tooo emotional and intensely painful
It was my first anime too and it was really painful to watch along with such intense emotions.. looking back i feel relly happy chhosing DITF as my first anime. I watched it back in 2019 but I've never been able to rewatch this. The osts of DITF are too much intense and convey every characters feelings just so vividly that you can feel it even in your bones and get goosebumps listening to it especially 02's ost

At the moment I don't have the strength to rewatch it. I only want the 2nd season. After all this time
