M1 Underground Fire I City Power and EMS assess extent of the damage

City Power says their teams are on the site of the underground fire along the M1 highway near Braamfontein in Johannesburg to assess if repair work can commence.
The fire caused a power outage in a number of surrounding areas.
Attempted cable theft and vandalism of underground infrastructure have been identified as possible causes of the fire.
