    It is amazing in old machines that everything is removable and repairable. Compare that with todays non repairable stuff and throwaway culture. Thanks for the video!!

      When it is manufactured in ways to cut costs down, they are not repairable as easily. Having multiple parts adds to manufacturing processes that are more elaborate & the mindset has shifted to forget about longevity, lets just make sure it lasts a few weeks/months. Who cares when it is years old. It is also the same with how content is consumed, not many want to watch 2 hour movies, prefer 2 mins 20 secs i.e. 140 secs, large screen has given way to small screen etc.. ah the societies we are living in..

      Agree old stuff ..Good stuff !

    • @bryanboone7363
      @bryanboone7363 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      You'll find that this is common when it comes to industrial equipment and high quality stuff. You can usually find parts and replacements for industrial stuff 50 or 75 years later and the standards are usually the same.
      You can get stuff around the house that is the same, but it will cost you many times more than the residential grade stuff. For instance, you can buy water faucets and door knobs that the manufacturers still use the same parts from 50 to 75 years ago. But a faucet will cost you $1000 and a door knob from Cal-Royal will cost you $500.
      If you look at the industrial quality machines in like a kitchen that prepares food for mass sales, you will find the equipment can easily last 100 years with only minor repairs.
      Back some 125 years ago, they invented the machines to make paper clips for the entire USA. It sounds silly for such a small thing, but there are only like 2 manufacturers in the entire USA that make paper clips. They have been using the same machines 24/7 that were invented back 125 years ago. When one of them breaks down, they don't buy a new one, because they basically don't exist. They repair the old ones with replicable parts and then it cranks out another billion paperclips in a year.

    Great work as always! I recently finished a 14 month restoration of a 1992 Ford Mustang 5.0 and I can confirm that paint stripper is indeed super lethal and toxic.
