Disney's Hollywood Studios is one of the theme parks at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, Orlando owned and operated by The Walt Disney Company. Hollywood Studios opened on May 1, 1989, known then as the Disney MGM Studios Park, and was the third of four theme parks built at Walt Disney World. Hollywood Studios is based on a concept by Marty Sklar, Randy Bright, and Michael Eisner. The name was changed to Hollywood Studios in 2008, after all MGM branding had been removed. No opening day attractions exist in Hollywood Boulevard with the Great Movie Ride being the last to close in 2017 replaced by Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway.
