When my daughter was in culinary school a few years ago, she had all kinds of recipes and notes taped to the inside of the cabinet doors. When we remodeled our kitchen a few years ago and got new cabinets, I took them all carefully down and saved them in a box somewhere. When I'm gone from this world some day, she will likely find them and have fond memories.
I have such fond memories of my Grammy making “Porcupine Balls” when I was a child. I’ve never heard of anyone else call them that! Also- a request from those who pray: my sweet mother has been battling aggressive breast cancer for a while now. She meets with her oncologist this week to find out if her treatment has been successful. She’d not like me asking this, but I would appreciate prayers for clear and healthy results. Thank you ❤ My mom is the strongest woman I know, and my best friend. I need her around for a while longer- she has so much more to give!
We've always called them Porcupine Meatballs...we prepare it differently but slways rice in the meatballs! I'll keep your dear Mother in my healin' thoughts and prayers and, also, for you❤ Get a notebook and write down what happens to you in the course of a day with her; you'll treasure the mem'ries going forward😊 Keep the Faith, Always, Hope🙏💗🙂
Hi Jennifer, a big congratulations 🎊 to Warren, and his fabulous crew, on the marvellous cranberry harvest. Delicious 😋 casserole 💡 ideas. Thanks so much. God bless the Brockmans.
I love casseroles. They are usually so simple and delicious. I know there are some who don’t like them but my family does. I like that they can be inexpensive and nutritious too. Thank you for sharing these with us. I hope you have a blessed week ❤
It always amazes me how different recipes can be around the country. Chicken spaghetti is very popular in Texas. Every caterer around here makes it and we have it for holidays , parties, celebrations etc. but it’s nothing like that recipe you cooked 😆. Ours is very very cheesey creamy with sliced mushrooms, rotel, and sometimes sliced black olives. Not always baked. Mine is just all cooked mixed together on the stovetop and I can put mine together lickety split with using precooked chicken ❤
Loves these casseroles and how you rated them and explained how everyone liked them. The German casserole looked good even though it was last in the voting. 😁
All of the casseroles look so good but I think my favorite is the ham and scalloped potatoes. I love when we have ham so I can make it with the leftovers. I have my 94 year old dad with me who isn’t much of a fan of casseroles but he doesn’t mind that one. I hope you all enjoyed your harvest party! I can only imagine how much Warren is enjoying being able to sleep all night.
Thank you for sharing the recipes, with ingredients and directions in your description box. Pls continue doing that, you will get more thumbs up and new subscribers.
I am fairly new to your channel. I am thoroughly enjoying the Meal Plans and your day to day life. Congrats on a fantastic harvest. You are so blessed with such a wonderful family. Blessings from North Dakota!
That ham & potatos looks really good. My mama makes it with hamburger meat like a hamburger helper type. It's really good too. Gonna try it with ham now too yum
Hi Jen I thought all casseroles looked good. I wanted to tell you i made the taco soup, love it, i made another batch today and put some in the freezer. God bless everyone.
So good to have finished up with a big job like the cranberry harvesting. A great feeling of accomplishment. All of your dishes looked delicious. Both you and Warren are an amazing team.
Hi Jennifer and sweet family! I’ve made the ham potato casserole from a box when I was strapped for time. It turns out really good. Everything looks delicious. Joe, you look awesome with your sunglasses on. They look good on you. Congratulations on finishing the cranberry harvest and hopefully the hydraulic system is ok. Now everyone can catch up on some rest, especially Warren. I hope everyone has a very blessed week!
Such great meals. I am going to try them all over time. I can't remember if any are in your cookbooks. I have both. I love it when you give the reviews.
I have never seen the ham and potatoes. Until you made it a couple of years ago. Now I make it all the time. It's so good. I like the chicken spaghetti. The rest I'll have to try. Love your channel!
Yeah! Cranberry harvest is done, and safely too! I always enjoy the 'realness' of your videos. Hubby is still helping an area farmer harvest, so supper can be anytime from 6 to 8 pm. I had written down the recipe for your pizza burgers and decided to make them. YUMMMM! We both loved them! I didn't have tomato soup so used my home canned pizza sauce instead. Will definitely make them again. Today's recipes looked delish! Thank you for sharing.
All the food looks so good. I've made the cranberry bundt cake and it's delicious, my favorite. Can you share the products you use on your hair? It looks so healthy and beautiful. Thanks for sharing another great video. Glad cranberry harvest is over and you all can rest for awhile. Have a great week!
Perfect video for these changeable weather days...cozy meals are wonderful. Loved the honesty and the ranking at the end. Happy that the harvest was so good...thats the power of Warren's hard work and lots of prayer. God was so good to your farm, im happy for you. Ps-I've got Hubby hooked on cranberries and caramel dip! He was super skeptical but game to try it and said to thank you.
Ps, ps...when my parents' home was being put up for sale my sister and I divvied up the recipes Mom had taped to the inside of her cabinets. They are absolute treasures to me.
Hi Jennifer. Really enjoyed this video! I love sauerkraut so I think I will try the German Casserole but will mix it all together rather than in layers. Loved watching cranberry harvest but I can imagine the joy when you see the last trailer leaving. Again, congrats on your bumper crop this year. Kudos to Warren and his amazing crew!! Hugs.
Loving the list and favorites at the end ❤ 😊 I love how well Joe eats!! I think the only thing all of my family will eat happily is pizza, and even then I have to make very specific kinds 😂
Hello Jennifer thank you for sharing your vlogs much appreciated by us all xxxx ❤️ If using chicken breast Chicken parcels A chicken breast Put this in a plastic bag then pound it with a rolling pin with your own choice of seasoning
Jennifer, any updates on the dollar store Dawn? I agree that the fresh scent is thinner and less lather and it takes more. Curious of your opinion. These casseroles look absolutely delicious! I especially love the cranberry recipes!!
I think you just solved a 60-year-old family mystery for me. My mom used to make porcupine meatballs, and they were awful. The rice stayed crunchy, and the bits would stick in your teeth. I'll bet she used regular rice instead of minute rice--I don't think we ever had minute rice in the house! Knowing this, I might actually give these a try.
The ham and potatoes was a monthly meal my mama fixed growing up. It fed all 8 of and was inexpensive. She topped hers with the French fried onions and cheese.
Anything made at home is homemade to me ❤ Easy German Casserole: *first layer:1.5 to 2 lbs cooked pork sausage *second layer: drained sauerkraut out of jar *third layer: mashed potatoes the way you like *fourth layer: cheddar cheese to cover +xtra :-) *bake at 350 until bubbly
I sent you the cranberry recipe book--we have one small area on the southern Oregon coast where we grow cranberries. I saw the recipe book and knew you needed it! I'm sorry the bread wasn't good. 🙁 I hope the other recipes are better.
Jennifer, I didn’t realize until about 6 months ago that the reason I never cared for casseroles was because we never had them growing up. I’m almost 65. My father and his 3 siblings were placed in an orphanage home during the depression. My mom and her 8 brothers and sister were raised on a very large farm. Continued…
Porcupine meatballs! Haven’t had that forever! Will have to try again That was one big chicken! Where did you get one that size? We were out for a drive yesterday went as far as Steven’s Point tried to get hubby to go down your way as we were so close and it’s so pretty down there but he wanted to hop back on 39/90 and go that route instead oh well
You know what I think the potato dish is done add some of the French bread onion rings on top and then just throw it in the oven for another 2 minutes or three that would be yummy
I have been out of pocket for months having to work more…so I hadnt caught a video in a while and was watching this morning. I think I caught Peter in the background behind you while you were working on the venison roast….Peter seemed taller than at begining of summer…lol…
Question, do you hate having left overs, because to me it doesn’t look like you even make enough food for 6 people long less have left overs. Just wondering.
😂 yep! I'm from Minnesota we always say Tater Tot hotdish, but we also only say green bean casserole. Mostly they're interchangeable though it's definitely Regional

I love that Warren voted at the end too. You two show me such a good example of a happy marriage and what to strive for. ❤
Yay for finishing cranberry season! I’ve enjoyed all the various videos featuring everyone’s meal plans. Great variety!
So happy for Warren and the family that the harvest is over. I enjoy watching the process each year.
You are past 50k subscribers! Congrats!
Hi Jennifer, a big congratulations 🎊 to Warren, and his fabulous crew, on the marvellous cranberry harvest.
Delicious 😋 casserole 💡 ideas.
Thanks so much.
God bless the Brockmans.
Thanks so much! 😊
That one recipe you made with the hot dish with meatballs that reminds me of porcupine balls that my grandma always made it looked really good.

Love your big, beautiful family , and watching you cook! You are such an amazing woman ❤

I never noticed how tall Warren was until the past few videos when yall are side by side , Maria is a mini you , so cute

I took your idea and made it last night with hamburger and we really liked that. Thanks for sharing that with us.
Now im hungry 😂 there is just something so nice about having someone make you a hot meal 😋 as moms we are usually the one's making them!
Hi Jen I thought all casseroles looked good. I wanted to tell you i made the taco soup, love it, i made another batch today and put some in the freezer. God bless everyone.

Loved ranking the dishes and glad harvest is over 🎉
Amen! It is done! Warren you need to relax a while
Congratulations on your harvest being done 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you for sharing all the recipes 😊❤
Congratulations on the finish!! Making the hot dish with ground meat tomorrow!!
I have never seen the ham and potatoes. Until you made it a couple of years ago. Now I make it all the time. It's so good. I like the chicken spaghetti. The rest I'll have to try. Love your channel!

Best of luck with the remainder of harvest season and I’m glad you like the pizza burgers.
Love fall foods. I made scalloped potatoes and ham the other day. Flannel weather is my favorite!!!
Yummy stuff. Thanks for sharing. And i LOVE your nail color!!

If you have a cake mix still coming out too dry use butter instead of oil & add a pack of pudding mix and 1/2c milk
Pudding mix and milk is great in cake mixes.

Even though we both put it in last place you might try it. Wow! I’d love to know what you think if it.
These are my favorite videos
Great video! That meatball dish is really a full meal! All you need is some bread and butter, maybe a little canned fruit, and that's a great meal.
I made your version of scalloped potatoes and ham and my husband really liked it. He said to definitely make it again.
Everything looks de-lish! 😋
Also, we hope to finish our soybean and corn harvest this week. I feel for you!
Loving the list and favorites at the end ❤ 😊
I love how well Joe eats!! I think the only thing all of my family will eat happily is pizza, and even then I have to make very specific kinds 😂
It was fun to rate the casseroles. Glad you enjoyed that part.
Tis the season for cozy comfort meals.
Love these long videos. Great recipes
We do ground beef, sauerkraut, cream of mushroom and egg noodles. Good with eye bread.
Yum, gonna have to try this. Thanks.
Hello Jennifer thank you for sharing your vlogs much appreciated by us all xxxx ❤️

A chicken breast

It seems just the same to me. Maybe the scent is a little closer to the old scent.
Yum-going to have to try these😀
I am def going to make that ham and potato casserole this week!

I use left over cooked rice in mine. I always freeze unused rice for future meals
@@KimFego-pn2yt Great idea!
Hi. I use Trader Joe’s frozen rice and microwave it so it’s cooked and then add it to the raw meat. It turns out perfect.
❤❤thank you for the great recipes
Great video! Thank you!
Joe and Warren are probably your 2 best eaters!! Again congratulations on your successful cranberry harvest!! So proud for your entire family!! ❤😊🎉
Yes they are!!

Both of my parents are gone but I figure my dad lived on casseroles to stretch food. I assume that’s why my mom never cooked them.
Porcupine meatballs! Haven’t had that forever! Will have to try again That was one big chicken! Where did you get one that size? We were out for a drive yesterday went as far as Steven’s Point tried to get hubby to go down your way as we were so close and it’s so pretty down there but he wanted to hop back on 39/90 and go that route instead oh well
Where did you get your blue casserole dish you made the potato and ham bake? It is beautiful.
Might have been the downs ceramics?
Hello watching from Manila 🇵🇭
Jennifer great recipes sweet Friend Love watching you always Cathy🙏🏻✝️☮️📿🎃🎃🙏🏻
You know what I think the potato dish is done add some of the French bread onion rings on top and then just throw it in the oven for another 2 minutes or three that would be yummy
I love this idea of making a few things and rating them. Plz post more😊
Did you cook the meal for the Harvest Party?
Do you compost?
Scraps go to our chickens.
Hello Joe😊
Hi Joe
Tapioca flour?
What happened to the wood stove project? Yes my cupboard has things stuck to the doors.
I have been out of pocket for months having to work more…so I hadnt caught a video in a while and was watching this morning. I think I caught Peter in the background behind you while you were working on the venison roast….Peter seemed taller than at begining of summer…lol…
He’s nearly as tall as his adult brothers.😊
Question, do you hate having left overs, because to me it doesn’t look like you even make enough food for 6 people long less have left overs. Just wondering.
I love leftovers, but if it’s a casserole I’m not sure about I don’t double it.
I worry everytime you cut green peppers! Just turn them over...cut them on the inner side...better 'grip' on the edge of the knife
Congrats on the bumper crop.
I'm watching from the East Coast... is "hot dish" just a general term for cassarole?
😂 yep! I'm from Minnesota we always say Tater Tot hotdish, but we also only say green bean casserole. Mostly they're interchangeable though it's definitely Regional
Do you have a bobcat on your wall? Does it have a name? Chicken spaghetti is a new one for me I'll have to try it. Thanks for the inspo!
I don't know how you do lower carb when you cook meals every day that have carbs. Sheer determination I guess.
🤍
I think the boxed scalloped potatoes are terrible. The real scalloped potatoes are so easy to make. I can't be;ieve you don't do homemade.
Never make a new recipe for company.
