You should get with Cleetus McFarland at Bristol over Labor Day. Capture a cash flush new audience. I would if I was you. Gear heads and bass heads often unite.
Basshead unite! 👊 It’s got to be a great feeling to create memories for so many people at the shows. 30 years from now they’ll be telling stories about hearing JPs ride at the Sundown show.
Thanks for being such a positive influence in the car audio world, that Tahoe is booming like no other. Top Notch I live east of hickory, I was hoping so much to catch this Tahoe there but caught Covid a few days before the show, I respect people way to much to attend I hope to catch this next year
Not too many things in the world these days that anyone from any age, any background can do and you see so much pure happiness, joy and smiles on their face. I love it.
Something I’ve thought about for awhile but never asked. How do you feel after sitting in the Tahoe demoing all day? Do you get sore in the chest from all the pressure or anything? I’ve never been around bass like that so I have nothing to base it off of.
Yes, I've been in a lot of demo vehicles back in the Day. And yes after hours of it you can get a slight headache or something. Every one is different though.
Looks like you have gotten the bugs worked out of the new system. Happy for you brother. We were some of the lucky ones that got a demo at Slamology and I don't think it was slamming like that. I guess I will have to get another demo next year to find out.
JP how is hitting now with the 9 18s and the new steel reinforcement? I would like to go with that set up in my Volvo but with 4 12s. Loving how hard your Tahoe is slapin bro fabrication are it’s finest
JP has some serious windshield problems now 🤣 previous build was beautiful but definitely this 1 looks better on camera since you can see the subs in action 👍
Weak mounting points on the stock pinchweld bolts rattle loose over time and just split from pressure I had this exact same lexan setup on my wall build it was the worst to demo to. Lows sounded sloppy I ended up splitting it the same way don't recommend it u lose alot pressure. now I have a thick plexi glass frame zero issues way nastier now with an oem windshield installed over it .
In case anyone is wondering one of the earlier songs in this is called Na Na by Trey Songz. Another is by pollie pop called pulled up (screwed up and chopped) thanks for sharing JP! It does seem like it’s hitting higher dbs and doing better then it originally was?
Young Jeezy - White Girls... please that one for me when u make again demo's....up to you want to play the slow version of that song or normal version what is best for you
Quick question brotha. How relative is the max rating to a run time like is the higher to max the shorter run time your would have or is it just recommended at rms and you can run max for a long period?
RMS ratings are meant to show what the sub can handle constantly, the max rating is generally for peaks, or short term listening. One of the rules i have always stuck close to is to have an amp that matches the RMS of a sub on that OHM rating, (Maybe a lil bit more >.>) but, that way theres little risk of smoking the subs. For example, I run a single Skar RP 2000.1 amp on one Audiopipe BDC4 15 at 1ohm. The amp will put out about 2300@1ohm with good voltage, and the sub is rated at 2800 max. Ive run it full tilt for over an hour before and when i reach back and feel the dust cap, its lukewarm. As long as you dont clip the sub, or severely overpower it, a good sub will take power. Now, i wouldnt run my rp2k amp on a 2000 watt max sub, because it wouldnt last very long. Noone wants to have to constantly let the subs cool down after one song, i sure dont. I want my shit to eat as long as i feed it. As long as you have a pretty good gap between your amp and the max of the sub, you should be fine. Hope this helps a bit. Let me also note: Competitions are different, those subs definitely get overpowered. up to 4x the max rating, thats why they dont play them for long, and they blow alot of subs during demos. Competition (Burps) are a duration of 5-10 seconds and most only go for just a couple of seconds given they are pushing sometimes 10-12k though a 4k max sub. So, my initial explanation applies to a long term listening situation, like if you want to drive down the road slamming. If you want competition shit... Your GOING to blow subs, thats just the name of the game. Overpowering them to get the highest scores on the meter.

@@408SPLKINGS You dont know what you are talking about. Noones car speakers or home theatre speakers blew because they underpowered them (Not including clipping) Overpowering is still worse for a speaker than underpowering it. Thats what the RMS ratings are for. RMS rating on the sub should be about what an amp puts out rms (theres a bit of leway) but you dont want to constantly run subs at maximum capacity all the time, thats just asking for mechanical or coil failure. Come on... Use logic
@@xxdjsolomanxx I completely disagree, we all have our opinions. @@408SPLKINGS Apparently you didnt really read what i said, or you somehow got it backwards. I already explained clipping(Distortion), and explained that it heats up the coils. I understand all the fundamentals of how a sine wave works and what it can and will/not do in any application. I was simply answering the mans simple question with a simple answer. He does not know the basics, so, we should not make them do advanced shit right off the bat. I offered basic advice so that he would not damage his equipment, in time, he will eventually figure it out, The main advice we should offer to novice bassheads is to warn them about clipping, because most newbies will just turn the amp gain all the way up and not even understand subsonic filters or any of the other options an amp may have. Regardless if you agree or not, that has always been the number one killer of subwoofers as well as amps. Most novice bassheads do not know how to set gains properly, and always try to get as much power out of an amp as possible regardless of what subs they have. I simply offered him advice that most casual listeners should follow anyway, thats what the ratings are for. RMS (Root Mean Square) is simply the continuous power a sub can take and an amp can produce on a nominal constant level. How am i wrong for telling him to keep close to those ratings when he is clearly asking for assistance, meaning he does not want to go all in and burp a 2k sub on an 8k amp, or worry about demos, constantly worrying about mechanical damage to expensive subs being over powered. You ever had a spider come undone from a basket? Its not fun. And its not cheap. Ever had a sub completely seize up? Thats not fun either. Nor cheap. This is why i offer sound advice to newcomers or those who are not into car audio, yet want a sub and amp setup. If you want to have an actual discussion about repairing equipment, or advanced setups, i'd be more than happy to. Just not here in this comment box. Between you and myself, if that kid looks at all this shit, he probably wont even want to fuck with car audio. I get it, you go gung ho, but not everyone does.
Sir, why is it that you don’t get a thick windshield to where u don’t lose soundwaves ro the vibrations of it? U can afford it bro! it seems that the windshield is a hell of a lot of area to be losing spl to it flexing no?

Speaker must be better to install at the back for one side of pressure in sound so loud ,on that design some pressure goes on tha back and otherbottom to top then the other goes on front,as we predict sound better and pressure in one derection
Just imagine a real nice thick plexiglass frame from the Inside with an oem tinted windshield Installed over it 😀 your losing so much pressure with that thin flimsy lexan , could be nastier.

I wonder where it is ported at such a great build
Was that full tilt? Them subs look like the can flex even more! Lol
