As someone who suffered bullying, this scene breaks me everytime. Something I always felt when I was bullied was why no one ever tried to help me so seeing Hina yell "she did nothing wrong" for standing up for her friend fills me with sadness, happiness and a lot of other emotions at the same time. I love a lot of Hanazawa kana roles but this is where she became among my top VAs. Huge kudos to Umino Chika and everyone involved with 3-gatsu for this absolute masterpiece.

It's a slice of life show about a Shogi player, and an animation style that takes at least the first episode to get used to. It's not something most people would be interested in just based on the concept. I only watched it based on Aki recommendation, and I'm so glad I did, I was drawn in since the first few seconds, but it's not something I would watch just if I saw it on its own.
I'm revisiting this scene and still, it hits me hard in the feels. Hina was such a strong character. And despite the pain she felt as the next target of bullying, she fought real hard. She never yielded into playing the victim for anyone, even if it seemed like an uphill battle. This is only one of the many good moments that this anime has to offer. And I do wish a lot more people would give this series a chance.
Even tho she's afraid and knows she's gonna be alone from now on , she insists she was not mistaken, oh god I love this girl and if I'll ever have a daughter I want her to be like Hina, as tender as kind as emotional and as strong, she's absolutely stunning

Please don't insult this series with that bullshit childish accolade. It's not so overt but it does have the essence of what becomes "ecchi" or "action" in a natural form weaved into the series. If you like something just say you like it, throwing around shit talk about other concepts just throws shit underneath the gold you're trying to present.

As Rei's life began to turn into meaningful and surrounded by sweet kawamoto sisters taught me that even what are the curcumstances in our lives there are people who will surely save you from loneliness and the person who will save you from that should ought to pay back. This anime really get my inner part as a loner, it really captured my heart and to be able to see Hina hiding her scared and emotional feeling is very heartbreaking that she is not actually happy of what her life is and I'm happy that somehow Rei manage to ease Hina's emotion. Very comforting anime and also relatable.

A silent voice as a whole doesn’t even come close to how goated the hina arc is. Definitely my top 5 animanga arcs of al time for a reason, just behind yorknew city from hxh as first, then followed by chimera ant from hxh, golden age from berserk and ruhenheim from monster. To me the shogi part of this show feels like filler. The real story is how a kid that went through a tragic childhood interacts with the people around him and how through each interaction he grows a little more. The shogi part only helps us understand rei a little better but thats it in my opinion

The hardest part was watching her friend recovering and those bullies don't feeling guilty at all, just bored, despite the teacher trying to understand them. No comments regards the female teacher who ignored the same problems for years.. Hina is indeed the brightest light, despite all she suffered.

Either way, this arc makes you wish that everyone who bullies and everyone who looks the other way experience threefold the pain they've all caused and seek to make it right.
