Jackie's playing of the theme in Variation 8 of the finale is incredible! It is so full of life, very different to how I'm used to hearing it. OK, so it IS marked 'soft and sweet' in the score and Jackie plays it 'loudly and passionately' but I absolutely don't care!
I have M.S. too , so everything with du Pre means a little extra...............tho she was a great Cellist ( not easily drawn here ...but Delius, Elgar ctos and much more )
