In this video I survived 100 (technically 105 *crying emoji*) days on the ocean! (with prep time) as a personal challenge and a way to make myself more comfortable with exploring the seas of DST!
Thanks to @BiddoBamss and @SirToastyToes for inspiring me to make this video! (and anyone who has made a 100 days video ehhhhh) . This was a very fun challenge :)

I like to think Im one of the few people who experienced the ocean quite a lot. When playing dst with my friend, at one point we decided we're sick and tired of constantly killing antlion every summer, so what did we do? Turn her off? Feed her? No. We stocked too much food on a boat with an endo fire snd sailed all of summer uncovering the map, killing sharks, starting a water base. It was very nice and relaxing and a wonderful experience
Also edit: idk if you know this, but when raising the sail it says "heave" and when it says "ho" you can click again to close it much faster if you time it well

As someone who cant get through winter i can confirm that i have never gone to the ocean
Hey man, excellent video! Here are a couple things you could've done additionally (some super useful, some useless)
1. You could've caught a couple of ice breams (winter seasonal fish) and some scorching sun fish (summer seasonal fish). They work as thermal stones, but they spoil in a day, so usually nobody (except wurt) bothers with them... but here, you are always on a boat with tin bins, so you could just switch between multiple fishes. This would effectively replace thermal stones completely
2. You could've, of course, technically beaten the twins of terror. It would've been a lot harder than usual (since you don't have a panflute, nor ice staffs), but technically possible.
3. You could've grown a couple of additional above average trees on your own. You got the tree nuts a couple of times, you could've dropped them off into the ocean anywhere you want, and then using tree jam, grow them into large trees... just for decor, i guess
4. You actually could have killed krab king! (and really easily as well).
Pearl has bees on her island. Using bees, you can craft bee mines, just 5 bee mines is enough to cheese crab king. That is equal to 2 bug nets, or 4 silk + twigs. You had over 9 gems as well (needed to start the fight), so you could have killed crab king x)
5. You could have gotten Pearl's Pearl!
You did these tasks:
-Build 1 stage of the house, dry 6 kelp on her drying racks, destroy lureplant.
If you did 7 more (give her an umbrella while raining, any insulation while snowing, give her 5 heavy fish and catch 1 heavy of each seasonal fish), she would have given you her pearl, which you could have used to get the celestial altar from crab king (big flex).
Hope this was an intersting read, and would love to see you attempt a boss run :)

I do agree that the Summer smoldering is definitely the worst way to go down in a boat challenge, i think getting some ice for the flingo or something might be very worthwhile. And when i saw the malbatros fight, i immediate thought that you're definitely gonna get screwed there. When dealing with ocean bosses it's best to have a separate "Combat boat" since trying to fight in your home boat is the same as Wes trying to not get hit by a lightning during spring.

After watching BiddoBams me and a friend tried the same challenge but making a base on pearl island was necessary since we aren't really good xD love your sense of humor and learned some tricks from this vid
First SirToastyToes and now you. Maybe you guys will start a trend of having an actual artist do your thumbnails. Since most DST TH-camrs use in game screenshots and Klei art.

The art is cool and all but like, it's clearly traced over in game sprites. Look at the thumbnail and then look at the wiki and you'll notice the images are just redrawn

I managed to survive about 2 or 3 days by only eating mussels from those giant flower monster. I swear they are fallen from heaven for helping me stay alive

for anyone wanting to try out this challenge remember by just picking up a few caps 1 of each type if you only care for big fish 2 if you want the rest and beefalo hair you can just make infinite hooks the colour is for the time of the day they are effective at being red daytime green dusk and blue night

Majorian here is just as important as Anatasius in 100 days of extreme spring.
However unlike Anatasius he had a good ending.

wendy is the surpreme survivor. no one can match her automatic food delivery and protection and that makes her one of the prime sailors too
I haven't boated much on webber but you'd have to manage sanity and make sure you can feed the spiders without them leeching your food and getting in range of enemies
another really good sailor would be wurt since you only need to get kelp to get by
Low sanity, you need meat to tame them, no nurse spiders to heal them and you need to make sure that they don't eat meat, a source of food and to replace any dead striders.

This run should've ended with you using your gems to wake Crab King. A boss filled run, should have had a boss death

Honestly I kinda like wet socks too- especially if they’re wet because my shoes are wet, because wet shoes mean I got to play in water of some sort, which is always a plus. Besides, if I’m at a park or hiking or something, wet shoes n socks mean now my feet will stay nice and cool! Wet socks because I stepped in something around my house are not so nice, though

Oh, by the way, it's supposed be pronounced "naar-waal," not "naar-whale." The "e" at the end of "whale" is what changes the A sound, if I recall. I'm old as shit now, so my English basics are somewhat solid, but I may need to refresh on why things are the way they are. 😂 No hate, just throwing it out there. Narwhals are weird. Subbed! I love game challenges.
The Narwhals in Don't Starve are actually named "Gnarwails" because the game is silly and likes to mess with the names of animals, like how the Beefalo in the game are a spin on the word Buffalo, but yes you're right about the pronunciation of narwhal. I'm glad you enjoyed the video :)
