Well hello there Chip, new subscriber here. I'm new to this gardening malarkey and decided (out of boredom) to give my daughter's garden a make over. Well little did I know (until I just watched this video) that I had cut one of her bushes into this exact shape. After watching this video I'm very impressed with my efforts. I think I can feel a binge watching session coming on, I'm really looking forward to your other videos 🙂
Hi Mrs Mercury👋🏼 thank you for your lovely message & welcome to the Channel 😁 it sounds like you’ve had a lot of fun in your daughters garden 👍🏼🌳🤩 keep up the good work , hope you enjoy the binge watching 🤩 & feel free to share your favourite vlogs with your gardening friends it all help my small channel to grow 😁 have a beautiful day & happy gardening 😊🌱 Chip
@@ChipsGreenWorld well thank you very much. I'm tackling the back garden at the moment, she wants a play area for kids, a section for a vegetable patch, a patio area with a fire pit and an area for the dog to go about his own business, if you get my drift. Oh and her patio/fire pit has to be a country cottage style! No problem really for someone who doesn't know a dahlia from a daisy. So I'm off to do some more binge watching 👀😊👀
@@mrsmercury2565 😆 sounds like you’ve got your work cut out 😁 hope it all goes well & to plan 👍🏼 .. have a fabulous time in the garden & all the best 😊🌱 Chip
I love how they turned out. I will be interested to see how that third one does. I bet it will come around. It's obviously in good hands. Happy weekend!
Thank you very much indeed 😊 I’m hoping to do a update on the progress of them in six months time so we will see fingers crossed ✅👍🏼 happy weekend to you too 🌱 Chip
I have a couple of boxus just like those . Thank you for your advice, I'll shall do it 🌳just I am very worry about the pest 🐛that attack box - what can I do to prevent infestetion on a efficient way, any guide please😊 thanks
Greeting from Virginia. Amazing video Chip! I have been watching so many topiary videos and yours is the best. Love your cat. I have two questions 1) Can we make this shape with inkberry holly? 2) could you share the brand of your clippers?
Hi Malvi in Virginia & thank you for lovely message 😊 much appreciated & to answer your questions 1 ..yes I see no reason why it wouldn’t be fine so give it a go ✅ question 2 …unfortunately I can’t remember the brand as my shires are about 17 years old now & the spring is starting to get weak so I have been on a hunt for a replacement pair 👍🏼 i am in the process of editing the vlog on the subject & it should be on by tomorrow fingers crossed 🌳 many thanks & I hope this help 🌱 Chip
Sorry to hear about your boxwood blight Nelle , unfortunately I have no experience with it as yet, fingers crossed 🤞 hope you get on top of it , I hear it’s a complete nightmare, keeping my fingers crossed for you 🤞 all the best 🌱 Chip
@@ChipsGreenWorld I have cut the small boxwoods down to about 5” and they are coming back. I dug up 8 and threw them out. Replaced with a more winter hearty boxwood. Winter Green. Some really large round boxwoods are under consideration. I may cut them way back later. I think a lot of this problem is really winter damage. We had a harsh winter under -13 degrees with wind.
Hi chip. I’m brand new to gardening. I bought 2 x £30 buxus sempivirens yesterday but now I am terrified that they are going to die and I should take them back. I’ve read a lot about the different buxus diseases and caterpillars and winter damage etc. How do you prevent all of these things with your topiaries please?
Hi Anne , .. don’t worry too much about disease & caterpillars just yet The key is to keep your BUXUS heathy , so water regularly & feed once in spring with multiple Purposes slow release pellets 👍🏼 then sit back & enjoy 🌳🌳 hope this puts your mind at ease 🌱 Chip
@@ChipsGreenWorld Thanks so much chip! You have really put my mind at rest thank you. It is snowing here in the Midlands- I am enjoying a warm hot chocolate alongside your wonderful vlogs. Please keep them coming in due course😀
